"I've stayed here many times, yet each time seems to be a little less than the time before. My room keeps getting downgraded, the service is not as great. For this past stay, the front desk clerk was not very patient. Not rude, but not accommodating either. He seemed bothered that I was checking in past 6pm and not parking in their secured parking lot. I was literally parked 2 car lengthens from the front door. I had every intention of moving to their lot the next day, when it was light outside. He seemed annoyed by this. My room included a sofa with an old, dingy couch cover. Not terrible, but not charming. The curtains didn't close all the way so the light from outside kept filtering through. A few minor tweaks will make this hotel amazing. I get it, we all have bad days, but this is a service role. Remove furniture that is too old to keep. Install black out-pull down shades in rooms near flood lights. Location is exceptional. Super fun block on the older side of Santa Rosa. "

"The Cottages on River Road is a true Gem! Stunning, lush landscaping with many little gardens and fountains. If you’re a plant nerd, this place is paradise. Many thoughtful touches from bistro tables and chairs on each porch, to delicious little breakfast chibata sandwiches and fixings for smores around the fire pit. Loved our stay, staff was wonderful - can’t wait to go back!"

"Do not stay here. This place does not look like the pictures. We checked in and immediately checked out. They still charged us a full three nights stay. And said I had to take it up with Expedia. Expedia told me to contact management since they’re the ones who charged me. When I contacted management, they said it’s not their policy to refund, or cancel within 24 hours of check-in. I told him how am I supposed to know how bad the place is 24 hours before I check in if I’ve never been there. And if your pictures represent one thing in and in real life, they’re completely different. They reluctantly agreed to reimburse me two nights out of the three. But I have yet to see any credit on my credit card. So basically they just lied to me to get me off the phone. This hotel has terrible customer service. And I would not recommend that anyone stay here."

"The staff was wonderful and the property is beautiful. Be warned though, this is more camping than glamping. The dome tents are cool, but far away from the bathrooms and amenities, and I didn't understand why they are more expensive than more spacious tents. We didn't know there was one master switch to power the tent, and wish the staff would have told us that at check in. We switched from a dome to a double twin tent and had so much more room, but then our heated blankets didn't work. We were there at the beginning of their season, so there were little things missing. Firewood is an extra cost, and they did not have any available on property, so we had to go to Safeway to purchase it. All of the refrigerators in the lobby that would typically have snacks and drinks were empty. Coffee isn't available until 8am, which is tough for early risers. That first day there was no creamer available. Their social media showcases "having another mimosa" but there is no bar. Literally no food nor drink was available for purchase on property. If you're concerned about security, I wouldn't recommend staying here. Tents don't "lock" (of course) and anyone could walk onto the property after hours. Bathrooms are communal. Great concept, great staff, beautiful property - but they should make it clear that it's more camp and less glam."
