Set on the edge of Yosemite National ParkOpens in a new window, this small town is just a short drive from some of California’s most inspiring landscapes.

Groveland is a popular stopover for visitors embarking on adventure vacations in Yosemite National Park. Bell-designed championship golf course. Go horseback riding at an equestrian center. Camp in the wooded campgrounds, which has hiking trails, horseshoe pits, picnic sites and volleyball courts.

We wanted to stay near Yosemite but didn't want to pay the high cost AND wanted a room with two queen beds. Clean, updated and had a restaurant in walking distance to grab a bite to eat. NOTE: This place is 1 hour from Yosemite, but the drive is AMAZING!!!

A bit basic. The newer sister lodge looked as you would expect newer and more modern. Personally I would try to go there as it is closer to the park but less wild. That is not to say you could have a very good experience at Grovelsnd

Expensive places to eat but decent food. We visited a great little shop to pick up snacks and lunches for our days in Yosemite.

Everything was just great, we had fantastic time, the only thing of note is food and souvenirs are rather expensive.
