This is a pretty historic motel that has been renovated recently to bring things up to more modern standards. The decor is very nice, and adds a modern touch while keeping the original vibe of the place. There are some limitations in an older motel building like small bathrooms, not a lot of power outlets, etc. But our room was spotlessly clean, well appointed, and the bed and linens were all comfortable. That, along with a very reasonable price and convenient access from the highway make this a great stop. We also had drinks in the on-property bar, which is small but also nicely done. Great job on the property, and if we're passing through again we'll be sure to stay here

This is what you get when young, creative people renovate an old hotel and put things in that they think they would like. I love how they honored the history of the hotel, combined with amenities and additions with guest comfort in mind, with an eye to sustainability and efficiency. Well done!

no phone to call front desk could have used a blanket but had PJs on and didnt want to run down to front desk. If you lay your head on the pillow the sheet and blanket barely cover your arms you have to lie closer to the end of the bed to be able to cover yourself. Could have pulled sheets and blankets out but I tried and pretty hard and being chilly without a heavier blanket to stay warm. However very clean and nice place

The team at Hotel Rapids was truly wonderful. From the check in process to evenings in the bistro, everyone was welcoming, accommodating, and genuine. I would highly recommend staying here for anyone traveling near the Grand Rapids area. We will be back.

Food was great, staff was friendly and accommodating! Our room was clean, condition was not as expected. The carpeting had wrinkle creases across room, furniture had several chips, shower seals were discolored/deteriorating. After showering noticed a big pool of water in corner outside of shower. The room door was tight...hard to open and close. Would of given an excellent rating if room was touched up, but cleanliness is most important which it was!!
