"Great staff and a good breakfast buffet. Hotel is in a rough looking neighborhood but I walked all over without issue and saw other foreigners doing the same. Plenty of food options and easy access to the cultural sites. The fitness center isn't much so don't factor that into your decision to pick this place. Hotel is great if you are looking for a location to explore on foot with plenty of budget dining options."

The Wakola team -- particularly Mr Diallo and Florentin (at the restaurant -- are the kindest, most generous, and most welcoming hotel staff I've ever experienced. The evening staff at reception and especially Mohamed made my stay perfect. They were so helpful in many ways such as finding me a taxi for a decent and honest fare. The day time staff at reception seemed less helpful. Not as welcoming and not recommending reasonable taxi fares. Mohamed was exceptional though. Super friendly and also the evening staff who helped me connect my laptop to the WiFi and made me complimentary drinks.

Hotel was very good with very large rooms. Room were clean and hotel was very quiet compared to the vibrant streets of Dakar. I used to stay in the center of Dakar but this was quite lovely. Hotel staff were very polite and friendly but need to be more engaging to guests. Breakfast was good but need improvement. Coffee station was almost empty and I can have only one cup for 3 times I went for breakfast. Besides it was all good and will love to stay there again.

I cannot rate this place highly enough. First of all the staff were exceptionally kind and helpful. The room was great, good shower, nice size, fridge and kettle, both much appreciated. Perfectly located for the places I wanted to visit in Dakar. Loads of fresh produce at breakfast, including a very tasty bean dish. The pool area was a perfect oasis from the business of down town Dakar. Loved it!
