We can’t say enough about our stay with Joanie and Petunia! Joanie is an amazing host! She doted on us like we were family. She went above and beyond to accommodate my food allergies. Joan, our host, was the BEST. She was friendly, had great stories, and made sure we had everything we needed during our stay. The location was perfect and we were able to easily get to Salem and other surrounding areas. The view of the ocean was amazing as well. I would highly recommend if you are looking for a wonderful bed and breakfast spot in a beautiful town.

Having travelled all the around the world, I can honestly say this has been one of my favourite and most memorable stays. Although listed as a hotel, the Hydrangea feels more like an exclusive homestay. Joanie is the perfect host: she’s so warm, welcoming, and friendly – and, as other guests have already said, her breakfasts are absolutely delicious. The rooms are comfy, cozy, and quirky. The location is a short drive or 10-15 minute walk to Gloucester centre along a beautiful seafront path. While everything about the Hyrdrangea is lovely and comfortable, it was Joanie who made our stay such a memorable one. She even allowed a couple of our friends to join for breakfast for one morning!
