The Lady Burn The Lady Burn, seen here in Balkail Glen, is a tributary of the River Luce. The name has been assumed to be a dedication to 'Our Lady' - the virgin mary. However it could also be a corruption of 'lade burn' as it was the main power source for a lintmill situated about half a mile upstream from here.

The Pot This is a pool on the Lady Burn in Balkail Glen well known locally as a place for catching sea trout during an autumn spate.

Glenluce Viaduct The viaduct used to carry the "Port Road" - the railway from Dumfries to Stranraer, closed under the Beeching cuts of the early 1960's.

The room was spotless and the view (room 8 ) amazing . We saw some beautiful sunsets. The staff were all lovely and very friendly. Breakfast every morning was delicious, especially the haggis.
