Although we were aware that the hotel was closing we still expected 4 star accommodation as that is what we paid for. The pool and terrace area were in a very bad state of disrepair and the pool area unusable. We asked for an upgrade to a sea view as there road works at the front of the building and therefore noisy but were told ( 6 hrs after asking and having to ask again)that no rooms were available although the hotel was clearly far from busy. There were a few bottles of complimentary soft drinks in the room and when I asked for refills of water I was told no they were only filled once despite us having a 4 day stay. The whole place was totally shoddy and the ripped and rusty awning outside reflected the general state inside. I have no idea how the Caleta can still claim to be 4 star and charge those rates. Sadly the fact that its closing at the beginning of January is reglected very poorlyin every aspect of the business. Dont book this hotel

The building is slated for demolition on 1/1/22. Thus, their bar was not well stocked and the outside grounds were closed (it was falling apart). Inside, the hotel was pleasant, and had a nice feel; however, as it will be completely demolished, further review is unnecessary.

The check in was easy and the staff (especially the bar staff) were all friendly and helpful. The hotel exterior has seen better days and the rooms are a little dated but it's a hotel I've been staying at for the last 5 years and has always been a nice place to spend time with excellent sea views.

Utsikten over havet fra Seaview rommene bra
Hotellet ligger i ett fint område, på motsatte side av sentrum. Kort vei med Taxi. Jeg gikk til sentrum på 30-40 min. Hotellet er litt slitt, men fortsatt ganske fancy. Restauranten serverer god mat. Hotellet er veldig stolt over restauranten der. Vil man ha noen enklere så finnes det en bar/restaurant viss man ikke vil ha fine dining.
Such a shame this place is being pulled down, end of an era. Considering this, theyre doing a fantastic job keeping it going in this last couple of months. Really enjoyed our stay, friendly, helpful and made to feel welcome, you cant ask for more than that, the ametities are all still there, we just chose to be out and about with friends and family.
A great old school hotel. Full of charm and warmth. Great setting and idyllic for a relaxing holiday. It is a shame that it is to be knocked down albeit by a new hotel.

Was a nice location with friendly staff and situated on the beach was a loveley location.
We had a great family friends/holiday to attend my sons wedding. The hotel staff were very accommodating and friendly. The setting of the Caleta is perfect with good public transport. Would definitely stay again.
The hotel is right by the sea, with the waves lapping up against it. Currently it's an Art Deco, Agatha Christie, style hotel. Pity it's being demolished. Very helpful staff (Wali)
Caleta hotel is tucked away in a nice quiet spot next to beach in Catalan bay. Staff very welcoming and can't do enough for you. I was lucky to get uograded to a sea view room which was a lovely surprise. It has a nice small pool area and access to the beach. Breakfast is continental but enough to satisfy your appetite and the staff in the dining room are really lovely and helpful. The number 8 bus stops outside the hotel at regular intervals all day and is a cheap way to get about. I opted for taxis because I travelled solo and they averaged between £8 to £10 to get to anywhere in Gibraltar including the airport. In all I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here but I have to mention that the staff and reception really do make a big difference....Thank you for talking such good care of me, the customer service was excellent.
Overall the property was excellent, the only thing I would recommend is a more varied breakfast, each morning it was the same items available.

Decent hotel on the quiet side of the rock.
No issues really. We got a parking space right at the front door and there's a bus stop at the hotel as well for getting around the island. The hotel is a little tired really - could use a refresh. Our room was on the small side - nothing spectacular, but the bed was very comfortable by European standards. We ate a couple meals at the hotel and the food wasn't very good in my opinion, but that's just me. It's not a bad place to stay for a Gibraltar trip - kind of quiet. Everyone was helpful.

Pleasant but very tired
Hotel staff ste fine and cleanliness is good, but the hotel is very tired and needs more than just a lick of paint
Stunning location. However, it’s on the opposite side of the Rock from all of the sights and restaurants. Not a problem if you have a car. There’s also a bus but not as convenient. Excellent breakfast. Awesome views from our room and the common areas, breakfast space, patio restaurant and pool.
I got given a beautiful room with sea view and that was magical
On Friday night however there was a very loud party from their neighbours and nothing was done to stop them
Clean and comfortable room, friendly and helpful reception staff, lovely beach and nice small pool area. Nuno’s (on-site restaurant) was an absolute gem! Would highly recommend eating here - great food and service, very reasonably priced! Spa treatment prices were also good and again a great service. Easy walking distance to town and up to the rock. Would highly recommend staying here!
The bed was uncomfortable and the fridge was unplugged when I came into the room and had to move the cord around to different outlet. Otherwise the room was very nice.
