Loved the atmosphere, the history and the holiday spirit. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was very good! Only minor complaint was the garden tub was out of service. Will stay there again!

Great experience
Centrally located to historic sights. Great food, has a tavern, formal restaurant and beer garden…. All good. Can also book events and tours that start on property. Ice cream shop across the street. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. Has it all!

Opportunity to stay in very unique property. Staff was fantastic-go on Christine’s Ghost Tour if you can. 4 stars for property condition bc jacuzzi tub out of order and tv stuck on one channel-teenager couldn’t fix it so definitely broken. History, interest, otherworldliness made this one of our family’s most memorable.

Wonderful place to stay but keep in mind this is a historic building so it has some quirks you need to expect like small beds. That said, the room was amazing and the staff above excellent. I would recommend anyone to try this place when going to Gettysburg.

Loved our stay! Staff was wonderful and room was clean and convenient to all the sights in Gettysburg. Would give 5 stars but the jacuzzi tub and WiFi in our room were out of order.

I loved it. If I had a complaint, it would be the room was dark but that’s not a terrible thing. I had a blast and met the owner who was the nicest gentleman. Took us on a tour of the entire property and gave us a history lesson on not only Gettysburg but Gino’s , better than any your guide. Highly recommend.

We had an amazing time! The rooms are eclectic and the staff is friendly and attentive. We had paranormal activity too! Also highly recommend their paranormal ghost hunt tours. They’re interactive and not cheesy. The real deal stuff!

The room we stayed in was very unique. We loved the history of the property. Ev en though it's not close to the square, it's close to a bunch of other shops and eateries and places to do things.

Really nice historical place!
My biggest complaint would be the leaf blower outside my door at 9 a.m. not a pleasant way to wake up. For breakfast, I chose scrambled eggs, which were basically fried eggs chopped up, and please give us ketchup with our potatoes LOL... beware the shower stall is extremely small and water can burn you if you're not careful. Otherwise, love love love this place and the ghost tour was pretty awesome too. Thank you Kayla!!!

Loved there beer garden. Was very nice setting, if ur a fan of history the house was nice and appropriate if ur going for the feel of the old times. House is claimed to be haunted but didn’t experience nothing to think that to be true

Place is very old, but very clean. AC is window units because it’s an old place, but I like the constant white noise.

All the staff was great. If you see the owner in the morning sit and talk with him he's full of information. The place is quiet in the morning but comes alive in the afternoon. If you stay in the pre civil war part of the property, don't expect a cushy hotel room but it was a fun experience.

Everything was perfect except for the other guests. There was a paranormal Investigation team that was very disturbing. The walls were thin and they were making a lot of noise and creeping me and my wife out big time.

The visitors center is a must see.
I went for the history and haunts and found both to be amazing. The ghost tour was great and I had some activity in my room. I heard either a cannon or rifle shot at 11:38 pm shook the building amount other things.

It is an awesome place! I have 3 complaints tho, 1. The room we were in was not level, I'm sure it is structurally sound, but it felt as tho the floor was going to give out. 2. Our room was freezing! We were there in April which is the time of year for the season changing, so its either hot or still cold outside. The weekend before we got there it was very warm, so they put the window AC in. Well...it turned cold when we were there, and the heat was turned off. We also heard a lot of street noise... I'm assuming because the AC unit was in the window and opened for sound to travel easier. 3. My third compla in nt is not enough paranormal activity! My husband heard whispering that woke him up during the night, I got poked in the arm, and I heard walking in the attic. I wanted much more!! Overall it was a great experience. The food in the restaurant was fantastic, and as close to civil war time foods as they can get. Trying the goober pea soup is a must! Basicly its peanutbutter soup, sounds disgusting, I know, but, its actually rather tasty!!

Good Morning Barbie. Thank you for taking the time to provide a review of your stay. Regarding the slanted floor, although the house is structurally sound, you have to keep in mind that the house was built in 1810 (back part) and the front of the house was built in 1833. I'm sorry you were uncomfortable with the temperature of the room. When you come back to stay with us (and I hope you do!!) just let us know if your room is too cold or too hot. We certainly want our guests to be comfortable!! Regarding the "activity" or lack thereof, we have no control over that. If anyone tells you they guarantee activity....walk away and save your money...no one can guarantee activity!! Thank you again for your review and have a great day!! Debbie / Guest Services Manager

The most comfortable and quiet bed and breakfast ive stayed at in a long time (with the exception of some quite litterall "bumps in the night") there may be a spirit or two but they seem as kind and respectful as the staff. We loved our stay here and will be back every year to celebrate my fiances birthday. Very happy to have made a new tradition.

Told when we arrived that breakfast, which was included in the price would start at 10:00 in the Sweeny Tavern. Both days the Tavern was locked at 10:00. Told at check out that breakfast was in the Farnsworth Inn. Putting clothes in the dresser when we arrived and found someones old clothes in there. Could only get one channel on the tv. I asked the girl at the deck if she could have it fixed. She didn't know how to do it but would sent someone. No one ever showed up.

The Meade and Lee dining experience with civil war era food was wonderful, and breakfast was great once we found the location. We were told breakfast was in the Sweeney Tavern but it was in the main dining room. The historic feel was what we expected. Great location. Close to many little shops. Our only complaints were the channel button on the remote didn't work and the air conditioner was very loud making it difficult to sleep. Otherwise. It was a great experience.

Pleasant stay at the Farnsworth House Inn
Our stay at the Farnsworth House Inn was very pleasant. We stayed in the Eisenhower room - full of Victorian era furnishings and decorations, with a large bathroom. It was fun to read through the journals of past guests' accounts of paranormal experiences (we did not have any). Dinner at the Inn's restaurant was hearty, traditional civil war fare. The young check-in staff could use a little more animation, but they were pleasant. There is free parking in the back. It is centrally located in Gettysburg. We'd definitely stay again.

Hoping for a haunting
We went to this hotel because we were hoping to see a ghost but there were no appearances while we were there. The second night when they had ghost tours in the basement and attic of the hotel caused a lot of door slamming at all hours of the night.

The room was ok. Only thing missing was somewhere to hang clothes. Its a very old pre civil war building so will not be to everyone's taste. Breakfast was more than adequate. We enjoyed our stay.

We expected to be in the Hotel like picture showed on Expedia instead we were in separate bungalow not the historic building unit with skulls of animals and toilet seat not clean from last guest Breakfast server not really happy about having to come to work also she looked like she just jumped from bed to the. table The room was noisey heatter would not turn off Truly not satisfactory for Expedia to list this Hotel

Spirited Night
My husband and I stayed here to celebrate his birthday. We were in the Sweney Room, which they say is one of the more active rooms, spirit-wise. Although we didn't have tickets to the Ghost Hunting adventure that night (they were sold out), we were aware before our trip that it would be going on and there might be a bit of noise. We did hear them going up the stairs and examining the attic, saw them with their EVP meters out in the hall, etc. We found that knowing they were doing this made it a little less scary for us. We knew it was live people we were hearing! We also enjoyed the Adams County Winery 4 course Dinner that took place in the Lee-Meade Dining Room. Outstanding. The whole evening was worth it. I recommend this bed and breakfast. If you want fancy and new, this is not the hotel for you. If you want an immersive experience into the 1800s, complete with a little bit of haunted history, this place is for you.

Farnsworth House Inn Stay
It was a very pleasant experience for my wife and myself staying there. It was very comfortable, nostalgic, and we both really enjoyed it. We didn't see any ghosts, although they could have been there. We were very tired from travelling all day and fell asleep early. Sound asleep. I would recommend the Farnsworth House Inn as a "must see place" while you are in Gettysburg. Two thumbs up!

Historic inn, close to everything!
The Farnsworth Inn was an interesting experience for my family. The inn is walking distance from most historical Gettysburg attractions and does provide breakfast for guests. The staff are gracious. The restaurant on site is good. All spectral related activities are an added cost even to those staying at the inn. The rooms were less than how they appeared ion the website. They were dingy, dank smelling, the mattresses were extremely uncomfortable, the window air conditioning units were very noisy, and there were no grab bars in the bath (which had old fashioned claw foot tubs), the towels were minuscule, the lighting was poor particularly in the rather steep stairwell, wallpaper was peeling, painting needed. My husband was quite annoyed that although there was a tv in the room it was the size of a computer screen and nearly unviewable from the bed. The inn is in a lovely period brick building but considering the rates charged for rooms, etc. it should be spruced up. Having stayed in period inns before we were a bit disappointed.

The Farnsworth House in review...
I believe this was the third time I have spent at the Farnsworth House. Each time I (we-- friends or family) were greeted with smiles and a courteous reception upon arrival. The staff was very pleasant and accommodating. The rooms were always clean, warm, and comfortable. It is a conveniently situated Bed and Breakfast to stay at, being near the battlefield, stores, and places to eat. The Farnsworth House is also "alive" with history. Dining on the premises is also a particularly enjoyable. The food is excellent and the customers appeared pleased. I am looking forward to my next stay; hopefully sooner than later.
