"What a wonderful stay,
We were met on arrival and shown around, it feels more like a home than a hotel.
The facilities are excellent, the attention to detail is fantastic and everything was absolutely spotless.
We look forward to staying again!"

Das Frühstück war an sich ausreichend (ich als Veganerin hatte eine Sorte Brot, Margarine, Tomate und Gurke, Marmelade und Sojajoghurt), aber das Obst war zum Teil nicht mehr gut (Trauben waren verschimmelt, Obstsalat hat sehr alt und angegammelt geschmeckt) und meine Schwester meinte, auch Käse und Wurst haben verdorben geschmeckt. "This was a repeat stay and Amrath is ideally situated in Alkmaar, easy walk to station and town centre.
The disability room we had was spacious and provided all the support needed.

"The hotel is tucked away in Bergen, which is a very beautiful little high-end village near Alkmaar, The Netherlands. We stayed only for one night -- 17 hours to be precise -- as part of a larger group gathering. The group dinner was held at the hotel, and it was outstanding and highly recommended. Staff are nice.
We had booked a room for two persons. Our room clean and with two windows overlooking a beautiful courtyard, but it was rather small -- about two feet on one side of a queen-size bed and a three-feet-band passage on the other sides -- with rather minimalistic furnishings and space. We had no room and place to put our luggage or unpack the immediate necessities. If we stay there again, we will definitely urge for a larger room. "
"The service was excellent the owner was welcoming and friendly. He helped us with our painters and bicycles and offered bike parking which was very important for us. Very friendly & helpful staff.

"heb afgesproken met vrienden voor eten en drinken in Alkmaar en woon zelf ver weg. Dus 1 nacht verbleven. Dat is prima gegaan. Leuk is dat je nog duidelijk sporen ziet van de vorige bestemming van het gebouw. (Gevangenis) Alkmaar is trouwens ook wel een mooie stad om te bezoeken met traditionele panden en grachtjes."
