"This is unit in an older NOLA style building on the 2nd floor. Unit is somewhat dated. The layout is a little funky but overall the living space and porch are great for a big group. We had six adults and it worked perfectly. Short walk to bars, shops and restaurants. Nice neighborhood. Awesome communication from the manager. Overall, great place to stay. "

"The views from this spacious 2 bed apartment are amazing! The convenience of a full kitchen made it easy to dine in when we wanted.
Ronita kept us posted and made the check in and out process easy.
We enjoyed it!"

Top Frydendal Hotel Reviews
Mafolie Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The hotel is slightly out of the way, and parking can be a challenge, but the front desk was great at ordering taxis whenever needed"
"My stay at this property was ultimately disappointing, especially considering the high price. While the grounds were well kept and clearly cared for, many other aspects of the experience fell short.
Service
The staff were consistently rather rude, which set a negative tone from the start. Interactions felt dismissive instead of welcoming.
Food & Dining
The food was mediocre at best, and the menu was extremely limited. Breakfast was only served 2 out of the 5 days that we were on property. This was frustrating and inconvenient.
Facilities
The pool clearly needed cleaning and updating. It didn’t feel inviting or well maintained a separate children’s area would be a great upgrade.
Rooms & Property Condition
The property itself shows its age. While the rooms have been somewhat updated, the overall feel is still dated and doesn’t match the price point.
Value
For what we received, the stay felt very expensive. The quality simply didn’t align with the cost.
Positive Note
The one standout was the well‑kept grounds, which were pleasant and nicely maintained.

"The place was quiet and nice, the pool area is beautiful. The property sits right on the beach with great activities. The rooms are clean, spacious, nothing too fancy, but still nice. I would recommend staying again. Staff was helpful, restaurant food was good. Taxis available if needed, parking also available for your rental. Thanks Carla C."
"Room 24. Very old, beat up, rooms in need of a major refresh, repair. Hole on the floor of the room was patched up with a wooden board with a mat thrown over to cover up. Couches and upholstered chairs with stains on them we did not dare sit on or put any of our belongings on. Leak from the bathroom sink. Floor tiles cracked and chipped. Hair dryer not working. Mosquitoes (I guess this is common for island hotel rooms?) are an issue. Lots of stairs and no elevators. If you ok with all of this then it would be a bargain value. The only things keeping this from being a 1 star is the location (proximity to Main St. Charlotte Amalie), the nice staff, and the free breakfast."
"Wonderful hotel. Be prepared to take a taxi everywhere you want to go. You can use the sister hotel Buoy House next door. the staff is extremely friendly. Our room was spectacular and so was the view. I loved the infinity pool. "
"Everything you need in one beautifully maintained resort. The staff were all kind from reception to restaurant staff to the beach hut attendants and the cleaning crews. Honestly, everyone we interacted with on the island was beyond kind, even our young kids made note of it on multiple occasions.
We originally booked a room on the hilltop but upgraded upon arrival to a beachfront and IT WAS WELL WORTH IT! The views were absolutely incredible from early morning to sunset. The rooms on the hilltop felt a little intimidating with two young children (why we opted to upgrade), but we did end up going to the pool on a few occasions and the walk from the beachfront wasn't bad at all! Our room was well maintained throughout our stay and had everything we needed to make some meals on our own. Ordering groceries through the resort website was also a breeze!
For the times we didn't feel like cooking, it was very convenient to have the Sunset Grille (and patio) on site. We did breakfast or lunch there almost every day and every menu item we ordered was delicious. Top favorites of our family were the buffalo chicken wings (spicy with the right amount of sweet) and both the jerk chicken and teriyaki chicken sandwiches.
The beach itself is so well maintained, from the seaweed being raked away at the start of the week to the coconut trees being trimmed/harvested. The sea life in Secret Harbor was plentiful - we were able to see tropical fish, rays and turtles without going to far out!"
"Point pleasant has been our vacation destination for about 10 years now. We love everything about it. The staff especially, and those that work at Sun and Sea and Lion fish as well. Never had food there that I didn’t totally enjoy, the scenery is beautiful even the laundry room has a beautiful view! We’ll be back again at the end of July in D 40. Can’t wait! I plan to bring the larger piece of artwork that I drew for the lobby with me this time.
Good day!!"
