Fremington Camp Fremington Training Camp is located on the Taw Estuary five miles to the west of Barnstaple. The Camp was built in 1943 to accommodate American wounded evacuated from France after D-Day. In 1944 it became the School of Combined Operations. In the early 1970s it became a Training Camp. It is now also used as a film location.

Had a lovely few days away. This place was amazing from start to end: brilliant value for money. No they don’t have an onsite restaurant at the moment but The Union Inn is. 5 minute drive and the food is fabulous there.

We booked in for 3 nights and we were issued with one toilet roll that was more happy shopper than premium.
