"Our first stay in a traditional ryokan and one of the highlights of our Japan trip. The staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, and the peaceful atmosphere was remarkable — apart from breakfast and the drum performance, we barely saw another guest. It genuinely felt like stepping back in time. We stayed as an LGBT couple and felt completely comfortable throughout our stay. Our room was huge, with traditional flooring and views of Mount Fuji, which we also enjoyed from the rooftop onsen. The onsen experience was a highlight. As visitors from the UK it was completely new to us, but we embraced it and loved it. The traditional meal was also a wonderful experience; my partner does not eat fish and the hotel accommodated this after we contacted them in advance. The menu is fixed, so picky eaters may wish to bring snacks. You dine in a private dining room. Beautiful gardens, exceptional hospitality and a unique sense of calm made this an unforgettable stay"

"This was my 2nd time staying here after I adopted the woman who runs the hotel and the shop as my Japan oba last year, I remembered she loves hydrangeas so I stopped in Kamakura at Hasedera to get her a gift before seeing her because her birthday is in June. She's a very sweet and kind woman who doesn't speak English but is totally fine having conversations with translation apps. The property itself is in a great location right across from Mt. Fuji Station so it's easy to get to by bus or train from other areas, and has so many different things to do in the area. I stayed in a tatami room again which I enjoyed. I highly recommend renting a bicycle in the area as well to see more of fujiyoshida and lake kawaguchiko."

"We stayed here to go to Fuji Q for the day. The hotel room was huge. We had a family room with four beds and a mountain view. We saw Mt Fuji both mornings so that alone was worth staying out near Fuji. The dinner buffet was very expensive but good. The breakfast buffet had very very few Western options. Sadly the Onsen was closed. They offered us one 30 minutes away. But we didn’t want to go through that hassle. Overall the employees are nice and the room was our largest in Japan by far!"

"I highly recommend Inn the Fuji for your trip. My sons said he still wants it for the next time if we will go to Mt Fuji, Fujiyoshida because the staff was super nice and helpful. Besides the room was big, clean, convenient, and quiet. I met its owner when I was walking to the Fujisan station also, he was very friendly."
