The Birdhouse is a quirky house that exemplifies the vibe in Folly. Built of reclaimed and recycled material and upgraded by the current owners, it is the perfect place to crash as a couple of young family. From the porch that is shaded most of the day and open to breezes, to the comfy living room, to the cast iron tub upstairs and queen bed in the master (we did not use the other bedroom but see note), we had wonderful time. About five blocks from the beach but on the quieter marsh side of the island, you are still walking distance to Center Street, Chico Feo, and Bert's. It is small but spacious. Two things to note: there are steep stairs up to the second floor but they are no steeper than a historic home might have. And you have to go through the master bedroom to get to the second bedroom. Fine for people with kids but maybe not great if traveling with another couple.

Alp like stairs..Busted up driveway..Rusty chairs you could probably get tetanus from ..Unsuitable for seniors and no help trying to cancel reservation..Thought maybe owner would try to recent since we couldn't and wouldn't stay there so we could recoup some of our losses but to no avail..Renter Beware
