Unfortunately, the elevators did not work during our stay. Out of five elevators only two worked. The breakfast buffet was very good, well staffed and had a lot of variety.

There were issues with the elevators. Every time they stopped on our floor they were completely full. After waiting for 20 minutes we finally took the elevator going up just so we can go down.

We had a great stay at San Carlos Hotel and would happily recommend it. The location is excellent, especially if you're arriving at JFK and taking the Long Island Rail Road to Grand Central – it's an easy and convenient walk from the station. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and always service-minded. Our room was spacious, very clean, and well maintained. While some parts of the hotel are starting to show their age, everything was spotless and comfortable. We also really appreciated the small kitchenette, which made it easy to prepare breakfast each morning. We were two adults and a 13-year-old staying in a suite with two queen beds and a separate living room with a sofa bed. It gave us plenty of space and worked perfectly for our family. We would definitely stay here again.
