Enrico and Lynne are wonderful hosts! They are friendly, easy to talk to, and go out of their way for you. The food is excellent (especially the evening meal)! The property is remote, private, and so beautiful! A true jungle paradise!
On a adoré !
Amazing hotel in the middle of the nature on the lake. So peaceful amd quiet away from the city surrounded by the forest. Lynn and Enrico will welcome you as family and Enrico will cook for you excellent meals. Tikal amd Yaxha very close by "colectivo". Pool, wifi, bungalows big, clean and comfortable with a fantastic view on the lake. Don't miss this hotel... it really worth it for great vacations and rest.
MZPJL is one of its kind in the El Remate area. We experienced personalized care from Enrico and company and thoroughly enjoyed staying in the lodge. The bunglows are spacious with hot water and Enrico and company cook hot meals which are just delicious to the last bite. Enrico arranged all the tours ( to Tikal etc.) for us and provided us rides from the lodge to the parking area where we were picked up by the tour company provided vehicles. If you want a peaceful stay with amazing lakeviews of sunsets and hot home cooked meals i strongly recommend MZPJL.
Far from the hustle/bustle of resort areas. In unspoiled jungle, ENRICO and LYNN have built a pristine oasis that serves as a PERFECT jumping-off point for Tikal (and for the adventurous, FAR MORE). My friend and travel partner plan to return soon for one or more robust expeditions to ancient ruins that few people ever hear about. And Enrico is the PERFECT host because HE helped pioneer MANY of those. Enjoyed our first stay greatly !
We had a fantastic stay at Maya Zacpeten Jungle Lodge! The property is beautiful and situated away from the little town via a road that you need a 4wheel drive for. The hosts are very friendly and work hard to make sure you are having a great time. The lodge arranged our tour of Tikal and we took their recommendation to get up early and see the ruins before the sun and crowds came in. We are very glad we took their advice! They didn't mind waking up at 5AM to drive us down the road to our tour either.
The pool was peaceful and a great refuge from the heat of the afternoon. The monkeys flying on vines while we were swimming will be long remembered. The lake is very peaceful and puts on a great sunset show.
I can't say enough good things about this lucky find. We would not hesitate to return and hope to someday. We were a family of four traveling with a 10yo and 8yo.
Enrico & his Wife Lynnde were very friendly, costumer oriented and good people to talk about the Area. The Lodge is gorgeous you can relate with nature & animal life. Thanks for your Hospitality,
JOSUE ACOSTA & PARTNER
The Jungle Lodge has lots going for it- a beautiful, if difficult to access, location. The site is on a lake and the grounds are beautifully kept - a kind of manicured jungle. The hosts are super friendly and really interesting people who are very knowledgeable about the country and the immediate vicinity. It takes some effort to get there and back from town which can be a big plus if seclusion and a unique experience is what you are looking for. The hosts were great about shuttling us back and forth when needed. They have meals available - a little pricey, but the food is good and the conversations are compelling. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to folks who are interested in off the beaten path experiences.
We spent a great time at this hotel
The owner and his family very friendly
Delicious food and spectacular views
The sunset at the lake is one of its kind
Close enough to get the tours to Tikal or Yaxaha and back at hotel to rest and recover our energy in the pool surrounded by the junge the lake and lots of birds
Just a paradise to enjoy
Thaks Enrico and Lynn
IN THE MONTH OF APRIL ON WAY TO TIKAL I STAYED AT MAYA ZAC PETEN JUNGLE LODGE, WHAT AN EXPERIENCE. I NEVER THOUGHT THAT IT WAS SO EASY TO FIND MYSELF IN SUCH BEAUTIFUL SURROUNDINGS. THE JUNGLE MUSIC OF THE BIRDS KEPT ME ENTERTAINED DURING THE EVENING. THE MORNING WAKEUP WAS SPECTULAR FROM BUNGALOW NO. 6, HUNDREDS OF BIRDS CRUSING THE LAKE REFLECTING THEIR SHADOWS ON THE SURFACE OF THE LAKE. THE STAFF MADE ME FEEL AT HOME, ALWAYS READY TO ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS THAT I MAY HAVE HAD, THEY ORGANIZED A GREAT TOUR FOR ME TO TIKAL WITH A LOCAL COMPANY. ON MY RETURN THEY HAD ALREADY ARRANGED FOR ME TO BE TRANSFERRED TO THE AIRPORT IN FLORES. THE ONLY THINGS THAT I COULD SAY ABOUT THIS WONDERFUL PLACE IS GOOD JOB AND THANK YOU ! !
