Experience spectacular Norwegian nature along fjords and steep mountains – all the best that Norway has to offer.

On a holiday to Flåm, you can choose one of the many excellent hikes that will take you to viewing points across the fjord. Enjoy activities on the fjord and take a ride on Norway's steepest railway. This is the area to experience a good old-fashioned Norwegian holiday!

Flåm lies in the heart of the Aurlandsfjord in Sogn og Fjordane county and is Norway’s fifth biggest cruise port. It is a small village with no more than 400 permanent residents, but each year it welcomes over 450,000 tourists. Flåm gives you great views of both the fjord and mountains, and lets you enjoy traditional Norwegian scenery.

Take a trip to see Brekkefossen or Kjosfossen, or choose one of the area’s many hiking paths. From the Stegastein viewing point, you get a magnificent view across the fjord. Spend some time in the Flåmsbane museum and learn how this unique stretch of train track was built. Or take a trip to Nærøyfjorden, one of the world’s natural and cultural heritage sites.

Here you can chose between both short and long routes, so whether you are here with family and young children or with a group of friends, you will find a trip to suit you. Don’t forget to take a ride on the famous Flåmsbanen when you arrive. If you visit Flåm during the peak season, be prepared for it to be busy.

The easiest way to get to Flåm is by car. Europavei 16 is the main road between Oslo and Bergen, both home to international airports, and passes through Flåm. During the summer season there is an express boat from Bergen to Flåm, which takes around 5 and a half hours. The nearest local airport is Sogndal Airport, which is around 40 miles from Flåm. If you are taking the train from either Oslo or Bergen, you need to change at Myrdal and take the Flåmsbanen, which will take you over the last stretch to Flåm.

Discover the delights of the Norwegian fjords. A weekend break to Flåm offers many new and exciting experiences.
