This property is located 45 minutes away from Cairns by boat transfer. Departures from Cairns end at 1:30 PM and return from the island starting at 9:30 AM. Guests should arrive at the listed check-in location at least 1 hour prior to scheduled departure. Really enjoyed the over night stay in the island. The cleanness and spacious of the room is far exceed our expectations. The easy access to the beach is just exceptional. Wish we could stay one more night.

It's a lovely island with snorkelling right off the beach and some enjoyable walks and views. The cheaper eating place (Foxy's) still has high quality food and the staff are amazing there and at the resort. The expensive restaurant (Zephyrs) has a minimum spend of $60 per person which seems a shame as it is in a lovely and convenient position but isn't so popular.

Best time I had in a very long time. Relax a lot time spent in the water and and hiking. Some people said 2 days is enough. I stay almost a week and was uncreadible

Fitzroy -a Reef gem

Fitzroy is a lasting gem of the Barrier Reef, close to Cairns, easy to get to and the fish, coral and colours do not disappoint.

Easy snorkelling off the front beach. Comfortable bed and quiet resort at night. Reception staff super helpful and lovely. Restaurant dining, especially dinner, was excellent quality. Average coffee. Restaurant staff didn’t have great customer service.

The staff are great, the breakfast was enjoyable especially the view each morning sitting out on the terrace. The snorkeling was good too, definitely better done at high tide to avoid walking on and destroying coral. For the price we were impressed, yes some areas need attention but you can see it is being updated. Special mention for staff Tom, Leonie, and Carys they were so friendly and helpful but all the staff were great. Would definitely return to Fitzroy Island next time we are in Cairns.

Snorkelling is amazing and staff at dive shop very friendly and helpful. Staff at reception were mixed some helpful and friendly. Tried to change room but told not available when I could see availability on line which was disappointing. Food very limited for vegetarians but ok and expensive.

Paradise island

The resort has everything you need without feeling too much like a resort. Dinner at foxys and zephyr were great and staff were friendly and helpful. Excellent for a short break from cairns. Snorkelling from the beach was a highlight. Recommend bringing some food over for a picnic though

The island is lovely, very small with nothing to do but enjoy the natural surrounds. Unfortunately the resort has not been well maintained and needs some TLC to bring it back up to what it once was.

Property was a bit tired - bifold doors were hard to open with broken handles. Broken tiles in unit and tiles in bathroom could do with a hard scrub in the grout as it could look nicer and fresher with a bit of work.

Great stay for a couple of days, accommodation needs some updating (parts of the room were falling apart ie. broken tiles, sharp grout and dripping aircon). Some staff were amazing and some were very abrupt and unhelpful. The guided kayak tour was great, Sara was super lovely and just a really relaxing way to hang out on the way. Pool area is small and limited seating but drinks at the pool were great. Foxy’s has ok food but prices are pretty high, live music on a Saturday night is a good vibe. Overall a good short stay if you’re looking to just relax, snorkel and get away from winter.
