"This property is run by a wonderful family. It is being renovated and updated too. Very close to everything. The staff are helpful with any questions you may have. The sea view from the terrace is incredible. Highly recommended."

"The hotel had everything you need and was recently constructed so in great shape. In all my travels around the world, I have not met a more friendly group of staff. They literally did everything to make our stay enjoyable. I would highly recommend staying here."

"Very good service, the food is great"

"One of the best family and regional small hotel we have visited in 20 years in Crete. They really are very small hotel, familial style but they do their best to provide high level services: multiple pool, breakfast, sun towels. Amazing quality for price. "The food was school dinner in a huge hall - badly let’s the hotel down Swarms of flies around the pool - impossible to sit by the pool in the pm"

"Good location for restaurants and close to a small beach, also enjoyed the spa."

"Very nice, clean, friendly staff, good breakfast."

"Rooms were spacious, clean and had beautiful views of Chania! The breakfast buffet was a real highlight with the range of food and the staff were so helpful. Great facilities such as onsite car rental and gym. Great free shuttle which helped us a lot. At times there was a lot of noise coming from the upstairs restaurant which wouldn’t stop until 12am. Rooms could’ve been soundproofed."

"Really enjoyed this hotel, staff were amazing Restaurant was very good"

"Highly recommend staying at Alcanea. Eva, our host, was incredibly helpful and friendly. The staff/service was great. And the complimentary breakfast offered lots of local options and all were delicious. Best part of this stay was the view and location. The view of the port was awesome with the water, local bars/shops, and mountains in the distance. And there were dozens of restaurants and shops offering all we might need/want. This hotel made Chania feel like home."

"Great location, very nice staff, exactly as advertised."

"This is a lovely boutique hotel in the heart of Old Town with character and charm."

"The staff were extremely accommodating and friendly. The rooms were incredible; the view alone is worth any price point. Breakfast was great, and the location was convenient."

"My husband and I stayed at Avra Hotel for four nights and had a wonderful experience. Our room was comfortable, and the staff were very kind and welcoming. The only drawback was the limited parking available on the property. The hotel is within walking distance of the Old Town, and some street parking is available nearby."
