This hotel is amazing. It is about 20 minutes from Neuchatel at the bottom of a gorge by a river. The location is peaceful and scenic. The staff here are superbly hospitable. The room was very spacious and clean with a big bathroom. If you are wondering about the lack of curtains (there are net curtains), you need to use the shutters which are very effective. This a fantastic, unique property. If you like old and interesting buildings with an eclectic mix of antique furniture this is the one. The beds were so comfortable and the whole place so clean. The owner was so helpful, little touches such as some food items, chocolates and fresh flowers just added to the experience. There is a coop and a couple of patisseries within two minutes walk. Location was fantastic and beautiful classic hotel with helpful staff. The pool/garden arrangement is odd and dated (and costs €30 a day if not included) not being able to access the promenade directly from the hotel was frustrating - a huge missed opportunity for them not to open all that up as restaurant/bar - I would flip the pool to the terrace! Anyway it was good and would go again

Brilliant location and wonderful house. Welcome was bordering on rude, however, and booked room was "not available because of an error". Staff was not very solution-oriented. The only exception was the very smiling lady who attended the breakfast room.
