Très très beau Riad. Un peu difficile à trouver mais il faut persister. Le personnel est très accueillant et le propriétaire très affable. L'architecture est unique. Nous avons ADORÉ notre séjour.

Extremely friendly and accommodating. Bruno offered us to check out anytime we want and arranged a fishing trip on the spot with his caretaker Mostafa. The road is dirt road for 2 Km otherwise excellent experience

Wir hatten einen wunderbaren Aufenthalt in der Villa Gonatouki. Bruno und sein Team machten unseren Urlaub zu etwas ganz besonderem, wir mussten uns um nichts kümmern, fühlten uns eigentlich wie in einer Privat Villa. Die Villa ist wunderschön ausgestattet, die Atmosphäre ist sehr entspannt, wir haben uns immer sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Außenanlage ist sehr schön und gepflegt, dass Essen, das man spontan ordern kann, war immer sehr fein, authentisch und preislich fair. Bruno ist sehr hilfsbereit, hat viele sehr interessante Infos und Geschichten. Ich kann das alles gar nicht aufzählen, alles in allem hatten wir einen außergwöhnlich entspannten Aufenthalt. Unvergesslich, herzlichen Dank dafür!

This place is really fabulous and I couldn't give a higher recommendation. The architecture and design of the villa itself is breathtaking, the rooms are beautiful and the place is equipped with everything one might need, two pools, several places in the villa where you can have breakfast or dinner, a hammam etc. The villa is on top of a hill and has splendid views of the coast, Essaouira and the surrounding countryside. Seeing the sun go down on the roof top veranda is a sight one will remember for a long time. The villa is situated about 15 minutes from Essaouira on a dirt road so it is absolutely quiet and peaceful. One final hint when you drive to the villa: Once you see it, the entrance is at the bottom of the hill, so you have to follow the road to the left, don't drive up the hill as we did!

Villa Gonatouki manages to combine a friendly, easygoing atmosphere and a wonderful quirkiness with beautiful decor, luxury and excellent service. The owners and their staff were wonderful hosts, attentive without being overbearing. We felt like house guests in a very unique holiday home.

This is more like a large guest house than a hotel. Bruno and his staff provide friendly personal attention, and you are living in a house he built for his own family. It's excellent for a quiet family holiday, or for groups doing yoga, meditation etc. But it is isolated, so not suitable if you mainly want to visit the town or the beaches, unless you have your own transport (though taxis are available).

Everything was lovingly managed at the villa, from Bruno’s construction of the building five years ago to the selection and training of his staff, quality of breakfasts with home made Moroccan breads, design, location and maintenance of swimming pools, amd the hammam and the first rate massages, it’s very casual and fairly priced. Having a rental car made its somewhat remote location easier, and being a small distance from Essaouira perfect.

Peaceful Paradise

Was such amazing experience to stay! With the best Bruno and everyone in the house! Pool is amazing! Meal is super tasty! Its not in the downtown but it’s prefect for m to get away everything and enjoy this vibe! But plus to my trip! Love it!

Everything about our entire experience was amazing. The villa, the pool, the room, the food, the staff and of course Bruno. I would 100% recommend this to everyone. Our family of three (9 year daughter) had an amazing two nights and wished it was longer.

Tranquility & New Friends at Villa Gonatouki

From the moment we arrived, we felt more like family than guests st Villa Gonatouki. The French proprietor, Bruno, greeted us with a huge smile, gave us a tour of his lovely home that feels like a castle, and introduced us to the wonderful staff. Our room was spacious and beautifully decorated, as is the entire property. We met the other two families staying there and by the evening meal, we were all like old friends drinking wine and sharing travel stories and tips. The breakfasts on the terrace are lovely and delicious and definitely do stay at least once for a dinner as well. We had tajine one night and traditional couscous another. Our only regret is that we only stayed three nights and we should have stayed a week! We are looking forward to returning and will definitely be sending friends and family!!! :)

Worth to visit again

Amazing. Would stay here again and next time for some more nights. Would also recommend doing the Hammam and massage, it was really great. Better to travel by rental car as it’s 15min away from the center and more flexible instead of always calling a taxi when you would like to go somewhere. The whole team is so nice and friendly, we had a wonderful stay.

Definitly the place to go

Despite the not perfect weather conditions we very much enjoyed the stay at this Riad. Bruno and his Team made this vacation a memorable one. Breakfast was absolutely delicious and we also enjoyed the dinners that were prepared.

Hotel ist leider sehr in die Jahre gekommen!

Bei dieser Unterkunft ist so ziemlich alles daneben gegangen, es riecht ziemlich muffig in den Zimmern, offenbar ein Abwasserproblem. Nach dem Frühstück immer ein Magenproblem, die hygienischen Voraussetzungen in der Küche waren dürftig, denn in einem anderen Hotel anschließend keine Beschwerden mehr. Das Leitungswasser wird zu kurz oder zu schlecht abgekocht für den Frühstückstee oder Kaffee? Schon zeitig in der Früh ist es sehr laut im Haus, da man die Küchenarbeiten für das Frühstück in die Zimmer teils laut durchhört. Insgesamt macht das ganze Haus einen ziemlich ungepflegten Eindruck, das Personal ist nicht wirklich bemüht für einen halbwegs angenehmen Aufenhalt, außerdem der Hausherr Bruno war nie zu sehen, und das Hauspersonal war daher ziemlich konfus und überfordert. Eine wirklich herbe Enttäuschung, kann bei bestem Willen keine bessere Empfehlung abgeben.

The best place we stayed in Morocco

This was the best place we stayed in Morocco, it’s really very beautiful, although out of town. You feel like your staying in a private villa. There are two pools, one of which is heated. Although your out of town, they have a driver who I think charged €9 to get into the town. The slightly more expensive rooms have a huge private terrace. These are the ones to go for. Meals were lovely and reasonably priced. Fresh sardines for lunch served on our terrace by the wonderful staff. The evening meal was downstairs in front of the fire.

Amazing beautiful paradise

We loved staying at Gonatouki. Bruno is a great host. Cati made the most delicious breakfasts, especially the doughnuts! Malika cooked the most amazing suppers. It was magical sitting by the fire eating delicious food. Dounia is a wonderful host who builds great fires and good conversation. The entrance is incredible , like walking into a castle. The eternity pool was the highlight for me. Swimming out looking out to sea made my whole holiday. Peace and quiet. The two dogs made it feel like home, along with Bruno and staff (didn't feel like staff) made us feel 'part of the family'. We will definitely be back! Thank you for making our holiday so perfect.

Incredible 48 hours

The most beautiful place with the most welcoming and kind staff especially Dunia. Only there for 2 nights but so relaxing and could easily stay there for longer. Would recommend hiring a car though if staying for more than 2 nights as 15mins from Essaouira
