"This so called resort is not near the beach. It looks like it on the website but it’s actually a fresh water inlet from the ocean. The water is basically lake water with quiet waves with a mud bottom. Check the map and see how far inland it is from the actual ocean.
This hotel also gives guests that use other Internet sites to book their rooms, in the tower, which is not like the pictures. Instead, you get what is called “a Traditional room. Traditiional to them means basic, basic.
Best to review the website online thoroughly, call this Hotel and ask what is the view like, and ask them not to book you in the tower, and instead a one or two story building that somewhat faces west, towards the water, and has a partial view of the water, or at least of the gardens. And yes you will pay more for a water view of the water inlet. On the good list is the free breakfast. Bet there at least by 8:30.
Also make plans to eat elsewhere as the menu’s are limited and you make not like the choices. I doubt if you will eat more than one meal here. The staff is great! Very friendly, and huge smiles! If you don’t mind a limited and cheap room, then ask for the 7 story building called the Towers, apartment style traditional room.
This Tower, is not in the photo’s, and it separated from the two story condo-like buildings. I was on the back side of the Tower. My sliding glass door with the balcony, faced the freeway. When I opened it, all I heard is LA traffic."
