"A beautiful hotel with traditional Japanese style rooms and access to a hot spring. The rooms were spotless and the bed really comfortable. We stayed for several nights and explored the beautiful surrounds of Yamaguchi.
I recommend hiring a car to get the most out of the area. "
"The property was located in the heart of the town. There were lots of grocery and dining options within walking distance. The beach was a short drive away too. We were able to drive to many scenic places like Akiyoshido Cave and the quasi national park from there.
The house was spacious and very clean. The neighborhood was quiet other than during the elementary school’s break time when little children could be heard playing. The house was also well stocked, though I wish there could’ve been soup/ rice bowls, a kitchen scissors and a rice cooker. I was also slightly confused by the check in procedure but thankfully the Rakuten team responded soon enough to help us with it. Overall, it was a very pleasant 1 week stay and we enjoyed the place very much. "
"Staff were very kind. The Kaiseki dinner was superb.
Although we did not use the public bath, the private bath reserved was great and our bodies felt less sore after a long dip. "
"I loved my experience staying at KAI. The Osen was lovely; there was also cold sake, green tea, ice cream, hot tea, and many other beverages for guests to enjoy after using the Osen. The library was quiet to do some work, with snacks and drinks also available. The breakfast and dinner were good. Overall, my stay was terrific. The staff was courteous and attentive. "
"Hagi Yado no Tomoe is an elegant traditional inn. While the outside is pleasant and clean, once inside you will enter a rare and elegant world. The facilities are immaculate and it is clear every decision is made with exceptional taste. The staff are polite, extremely kind and respectful of privacy. The rooms are gorgeous, and the multiple course Kaiseki dinners are delicious and incredibly beautiful. They also have a lovely selection of local pottery on display for sale. Today, upon departure, I did their sake brewery tour. The guide and staff driving couldn’t have been nicer, and the sake master was so down to earth and kind. I also enjoyed a sake tasting and purchased a small bottle to take home. After the tour they recommended a lovely place for lunch, making sure I knew where to catch my but to return to Yamaguchi City. While in Hagi I particularly enjoyed my visit to Toukouji Temple and the surrounding area. My stay at Hagi Yado no Tomoe was delightful in every way. I hope to return."
