"The parking sucks, I tried to go on a walk outside and there was a homeless man trying to get in, the elevator felt like it was going to collapse every time you’d get in, the place feels old and definitely needs renovations, the map was a little confusing and I had to go to the front desk because my key wasn’t working, it felt like a motel more than a hotel, they also didn’t tell me in advance before booking that they will charge you 200 dollars when you check in just in case there are any damages and they reimburse it to you after you check out, the staff was great and helpful, I called the front desk at 12 am to request toothpaste and I got it in less than 5 minutes which is nice considering the walk is long. The issue is with the administration of the place, not the employees. They seriously need to fix that parking lot and renovate the buildings in general"

"My dad and I both enjoyed our breakfast at the restaurant in the hotel. The staff were very friendly, attentive, and prompt. The food was good. I did really like how the parking elevator was attached to the hotel. It was very easy to park overall I would recommend this hotel."

"I did not utilize any of the amenities as I was just looking for a comfortable place in downtown Berkeley for one evening. And in the regard, it was fine. That said, we had a service animal with us, which they insisted on charging us a $75 pet fee, even when I made it clear various times under the American Disabilities Act that is not legal and service animals are not considered pets. I ended up staying at the hotel and paying the fee despite this as it is exhausting to have to argue and find another accommodation. Just want to detail the experience we had so that any others with service animals are aware."

"The room was in poor condition — stained carpets, greasy marks on the bed frames and glass windows, a torn window screen, and peeling paint on the bathroom door. Not even water cups in the room. Breakfast was equally disappointing. When I arrived at 8:15 AM, staff informed me they were out of coffee and would not make more. There was no milk either. Perhaps we were given an inferior room (ours faced a busy avenue rather than the quieter neighborhood behind the hotel). Perhaps the staff member I encountered was simply having a bad day, or the person at check-in took issue with me traveling with a child. We paid more than $700 for two nights. Whatever the reason, the entire stay felt deeply overpriced and unwelcoming."
