We just spent a few nights here. The rooms were clean, modern, and comfortable. Where this hotel really shines is the service. The staff went well out of their way to accommodate us and ensure that we enjoyed our stay. The included breakfast was amazing and provided far more food than we imagined and packed leftovers for us which also became our lunch. On the day we left we were leaving early, when they found out we would be missing breakfast we were offered a packed lunch instead which was also delicious. This hotel exceeded expectations! Would certainly recommend.

Our stay at Onrock Hotel was very pleasant. The staff were all really friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean. Nice little hotel with amazing views. Would recommend staying here for the best views of the mountains and the best service from hotel staff.

Staff were wonderful and helpful, room 301 had an amazing view of the mountain and waterfall, comfortable bed - hotel is on a steep walkable hill.

The staff at Hotel Onrock were extremely attentive, warm and accommodating. We were treated like royalty! From the warm face towels on arrival, to the delicious breakfasts - everything was absolutely perfect!

The view was beautiful. Kavindu recommended taking food from the hotel on the train because I'm gluten free. Then we forgot the food when we left and he brought it to the train station for me!

Great location close to the train sration. Hotel was well kept and the food service was great. Walking up the hill to the hotel could be dificult for some.

We paid extra to get a room with a view and air conditioning . The rooms were clean and new , comfortable beds and I loved the space where you could unpack your case . They had nice touches like toothbrush and slippers . The breakfast was good, fruit, eggs and a Sri Lanka delicacy . I loved how it was a short trip to town and the cafes - it was a steep walk . When the Infiniti pool is finished on November it will be stunning . But the view of Ella rock and Lityle Adam’s peak was exceptional. The staff were so willing to help and attentive . Totally recommend staying here

A beautiful hotel with amazing views and rooms, staff are very helpful and welcoming, had an amazing time here would highly recommend The hill up to the property is very steep and long but you can get a tuk tuk up for a very small price and walking down is fine

Great location in Ella with beautiful views of Little Adam’s Peak, Ella Rock, and the waterfalls. Easy walk down a steep hill to town. With luggage use a tuk-tuk to get to the hotel. Nice stay in Ella.

Best place to stay- it ROCKS
THE BEST PLACE TO STAY IN SRI LANKA! honestly we loved everything about hotel onrock! Amazing kind and warm staff who go above and beyond really made this a special experience. Best Sri Lankan breakfast we had in Sri Lanka without a doubt, extremely comfortable room with great views of Ella rock and little Adam’s peak. I can’t recommend this place more highly! They also posted my friends AirPods to us in mirissa when she left them there and they arrived before we did. Location is up a hill but worth it for the views. Very clean and perfect overall. Would definitely stay again!

Great hotel. Customer Service could of done better
Great location. Great hotel. Air conditioning was not working in our room. Customer Service came to try to fix air conditioning without any luck. Customer Service only offered us to change rooms with our guide & our guide was left without air conditioning in his room.

This hotel was exceptional value for money. They have renovated the hotel so it looked different from the pictures at the time of our booking but it has been beautifully done. The service was excellent, the food delicious, the view amazing and lovely touches like slippers available in your room.

Hotel Onrock a little gem overlooking Ella. Views from dining room lovely. The staff are so helpful and accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble for them and they made us so welcome with the drink on arrival as well as a hot towel after our 6 hour train ride from Kandy. Food and breakfast tasty and reasonably priced. Can't wait to see the rooftop infinity pool on our next visit.

We had the pleasure of a newly renovated room. Stunning view of Little Adam and Ella Quiet location which suited us perfectly after the hustle of the town. Breakfast was good - we wanted a simple scrambled eggs and toast which they served flawlessly Everything is in walking distance which is super The reception staff organised us a fantastic Tuk Tuk to the station for our onwards journey - 1 night stay The Fish & Chips shop Roti serves some excellent Sri Lankan food

Fantastic staff, location and views
I really enjoyed my stay here. The manager/owner was incredibly friendly and attentive. The view from a balcony was breathtaking and the room had everything we needed. Its a short walk to the restaurants on the main road and we were also able to walk to some of the main attractions of the area. Breakfast was excellent and the area was quiet.

Lovely owner, very helpful, everything was efficient and clean and as expected. We were especially grateful for being provided with a takeaway breakfast when we had an early start. The hotel is basic as you would expect in Ella but it was clean and very good value. The only suggestion I would make is to improve the lighting in the rooms.

This hotel is in the perfect location. It is a short walk (3m up a steep hill) from the center of Ella. However, because it is up on the hill it has beautiful views and is quiet and peaceful. The staff are amazingly helpful and responsive. Wish we had another night to enjoy!

There are so many hotels in Ella. However, I am so glad that I chose Hotel Onrock. First and foremost the view from the hotel is BREATHTAKING!!. Then the Staff. The Manager Rohan Perera (Mr Rohan as he is lovingly called) is a wonderful human. He takes care of everything. He will never say no to any request. Your comfort is utmost important to him. He is available until 9.00 pm in the night and then from 4.30 am in the morning. His customer centric attitude is amazing. His staff also follow his lead. Raja from Housekeeping is a gentle soul. Panduka from back office is great. The rooms are so clean. The dining area is breathtaking. You get to see a waterfall from the hotel. All the major landmarks in Ella are so close from the hotel. A lot of dining options nearby. I highly recommend this HOTEL.

Lovely hotel right by the town (allbeit up a very steep path!) but literally took 2 minutes to get to the main road with all the bars/restaurants. Our room was lovely, with a balcony looking out over to Ella rock and little Adam’s peak. Very comfy bed, tv, mini fridge, powerful, hot shower! Couldn’t fault this place as a lovely base to explore Ella

This hotel was nice enough but not worth the money. It has great views of ellas gap in the morning and a nice strong shower. We had several insect and lizard friends in our room but i think thats probably to be sxpected in that area. My major issue is i booked this hotel for the sri lankan breakfast and at no point did the host tell me i had to order it the night before so in the morning he would only offer me a crummy omelet and said i should have placed my order last night. How would i know that? The hotel is at the top of a very very steep hill but its a good workout if you like that kind of thing. Also we ate out till about 10pm and the hotel owner locked us out!! We had to bang on the doors to get back in

Amazing views!!
The views from my balcony at Hotel Onrock were simply breathtaking! The room itself was also very spacious, clean and comfortable. And it had two very powerful fans to manage the heat during the day (the room cooled down pleasantly at night). The breakfast was lovely and the dining area also had beautiful views. They were also very helpful with directions and with arranging transport to nearby sights and my next destination. A very short walk to the main street with all the restaurants.

Exemplary service and stunning views
I can't recommend Hotel Onrock highly enough! From the moment we arrived we were warmly welcomed by the manager, Mr Perera. The hotel lobby/restaurant was decorated for Christmas and there were Christmas songs playing, which I loved! We were handed a complementary glass of papaya juice, and quickly shown to our room while our luggage was taken upstairs for us. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. There was a fan, which was sufficient to keep us cool at night. The en suite bathroom had a great shower, and complementary toiletries were included. The room had tea and coffee making facilities, and bottled water was provided in the room daily. Breakfast was included - fresh fruit and fruit juice, toast with jam, eggs made to order, and tea/coffee. Mr Perera was quick to provide helpful recommendations about restaurants and activities in the town. The best thing about this hotel (apart from the excellent service!) was the view. Our balcony overlooked Little Adam's Peak and Ella Rock, and we could watch the sun rise in the Ella Gap between. The hotel also had a public balcony on the first floor with two hammocks overlooking a similar view, which made for a very relaxing time! We only stayed for the two nights we spent in Ella, but would happily have stayed at Hotel Onrock longer and were sad to leave!

Great view of the Ella Gap from the rooftop to catch the magnificent sunrise! The hotel manager takes pride of his work and ensures our stay is well taken of. Location of hotel is near the main street, while not subjected to the noise from the eateries. Peaceful and quiet, nice place to chill and relax.

Nice hotel just a short walk up a steep hill from the main street in Kandy. The breakfast was nice (make sure you ask for he Sri Lankan one). The rooms were clean but fitted out pretty cheaply compared with other places we stayed in Sri Lanka (squeaky bed and cheap bathroom). Staff were very friendly.

We loved our stay here. Great location to be able to walk to Ella Rock, Nine Arch Bridge and the main street in Ella. Staff was great and very attentive. Our room was perfect for what we needed and balcony had an amazing view of Ella Rock and Little Adams Peak. Would stay here again.
