Airport Hotels, El Salvador Intl. (SAL)

"This is a "you get what you pay for" type of hotel. If you're not looking for much, then it will do. It is about 5 minutes to the airport and that is its biggest PRO. The restuarant was also remarkably good for what you would otherwise expect at this type of hotel. The major CONS were that: 1. The rooms were unattractive and very trashy looking and feeling. 2. There was absolutely zero counter space in the bathroom (where are you going to put your toiletries?) 3. There is no desk in the bedroom. 4. The bed was not comfortable. Some of the other PROS were: 1. The internet speed was remarkably fast. I was consistently getting about 80mbps up and down. 2. The shower was a decent size (though the shower head needed cleaning as many of its spouts were clogged). All in all, if you need fast internet and a close hotel to the airport, this will do. If you want a "nice" hotel with a comfortable bed and counter space for your basic necessities, this place will frustrate you."

"Este hotel es un verdadero TESORO!!. Mi esposo y yo lo visitamos por segunda vez y ya estamos planeando nuestro próximo viaje. "Booked and paid for a room. On the day of booking when I arrived at 8:30 pm, staff informed me that they had no vacancy and they overbooked my room to another client. They said they arranged for a friends hotel to stay at with similar amenities instead. The alternate hotel was cheaper, but I didn’t get reimbursement. They were happy to keep the extra money between the room costs. Also, alternate hotel was cheaper for a reason. The room I was given was too small to open my luggage, the front reception area had flying ants everywhere. Luckily, the ants weren’t in the room. Comparing pictures of what I booked for, clearly not equivalent in hotel type. In summary, beware that even if you book weeks in advance this company may bump your reservation for another one. Then they will offer you a worse stay, elsewhere and keep the extra income. Lacking respect and commitment to a prior booking. Expedia says to get in touch next time before alternate arrangements. But this isn’t always practical if you arrive late in the evening and tired."
