"What should have been an easy comfortable stay, ended with me having to check out an hour after arriving and seeking and paying for new accommodations!!! Let’s start with my suite not being available for Maintenance issues on the day of my arrival. I was notified and promised rewards points, which I also haven’t received, and a downgrade to a regular room. I understand that things happen that are out of our control. I’ve been through it and have worked at every level in hotels. But to arrive and be greeted by a young man, with a “what’s up man?”, Is ridiculous! I was not notified that the pool was closed. And upon entering the room I was downgraded to, more disappointment followed. The room had a bed that was sloppily made, used coffee still in the coffee machine, from at least a few DAYS prior, hair in the sink, and a crack in the shower! I only sat on the bed long enough to book another hotel. And now, to boot, I cannot even get a refund!!!! To say that Expedia and Hawthorne have BOTH let me down, SEVERELY, is an understatement!!!!
I am now out even more money from having to book a second hotel, and didn’t even get the rewards to make up for the downgrade at least?! "
