Although the family style cabins are quite dated, for the price it’s clean, the staff is lovely and super helpful and there are good options for eating. Wish the cabins were outside and allowed fresh air as it was very hot and we could not get a breeze through the room to cool it down.

If you stay in rooms - you hear everything what happens in the hotel. Hard to sleep. Probably cabanas should be better. Everything else is fine. Continental breakfast is good you can order eggs additionally.

Book Don Pepe for the convenience. Easy walk to downtown. This is a low cost, very simple place. The rooms are suitable, low cost rooms. Beds were surprisingly comfortable (although obviously old), showers had strong hot water (although small with a plastic shower curtain that sticks to you while you shower). Outside of the room is the place to be! They have many tables in a beautiful greenhouse like area with fabulous plants and flowers!! We hung out outside while waiting for others in our group to get ready. I would recommend for anyone looking for a simple inexpensive place to stay at is in walking distance to downtown.

This place looked fine in the photos but when we checked in it was so dingy and dated. Our room smelled like gas. The bathroom had a weird setup. Bed was not good. Just nothing was quite right. We ended up moving to another similarly priced hotel just down the street that was so much better. The people at reception were nice.

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Don Pepe in El Calafate! After our hike in El Chaltén, we liked it so much that we came back and stayed for two more nights. The service was excellent, especially from the front desk team. A special thank you to Lucio—such a kind and helpful person who made our stay even better. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting El Calafate!
