Would definitely stay here again. The views are beautiful. The staff is very warm and welcoming. The restaurant food was very good. Very close to the Skookumchuk Narrows. Egmont is very quiet. Unfortunately when we were there the weather was rainy and cold so we were unable to enjoy the water activities we’d originally planned - maybe next time!

I know that this was during Covid however the service in the restaurant could have been better. Staff chatting in the corner while we were waiting to be seated. Even though I had informed them it was our anniversary nothing special was done on their part to make it that much better. Shower sprayed all over the bathroom, and the lighting was poor for doing make up. No bottle water in bedroom. For $700 per night you would think these things would be perfect. It would have been nice to know when booking that you could request a dinner time. We were allotted 5:30 pm and 6:30 pm. A bit early for a anniversary dinner. The second night was changed to 7:30 but only after I asked twice for it to be done.

Hi Peggy, Thanks for the review it really helps us to be better at what we do. Sorry about the shower, we are rebuilding them this winter. As for dinner time, we will make a reservation for our guests that are in-house when you book your stay. We do this to ensure you have a table, and sometimes we have no choice in time as we are full. This summer we were busier than anticipated. I would say a large number of dinners are here celebrity an event and we offer a special event package for that reason. I should point out your stay cost $642 including, 2 dinners and 2 breakfast

Great place to stay
Room is spacious and comfy. Had a power outage in one morning but got back to normal in 4 hrs. We book the room with dinner and breakfast since the lodge is away from busy town. The meal are delicious too.

Very nice hotel with the best view, though we live in West Vancouver and got the ocean view. If the hotel has a promotion we will come back again.

Peaceful getaway with great views
Highly recommend this hotel. The customer service is exceptional- everyone was very friendly and offered useful tips and suggestions on what to do in the area. The moment you walk into the lodge, you realize why you are staying there- magnificent view. The lodge is situated right above the water with views of the smaller islands. I would advise to get a room with a view of the water but if you don’t have one it is ok as you can simply just sit on the patio outside of the restaurant all day/evening if you like to take in the sunset. The rooms are ok at best- serviceable but it’s the view, the people, and the quietness of the resort that is the big selling point. Definitely will return!

We stayed in one of the Oceanview cabins, where the view was fantastic. Eating on the covered deck area with the views that came with it was an awesome experience. The food was really good, and the staff were all very friendly and laid back. If not for the accommodation I would give it five stars all round. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was quite large but there was no air conditioning which meant that we had to keep the patio window open nearly all the time with a small fan in the doorway circulating air. The shower stall was tiny with barely enough room to stand and there was no place to put soap, shampoo etc except for on the floor. The washbasin was a designer-type, very shallow, which looked interesting, but wasn't very functional. For some reason we were given six tubes of conditioner, but no shampoo which we thought odd. Using my laptop was awkward as there was no desk in the room, so I had to either sit on the bed with it, or have it on my lap on the sofa. Finally, it is a cabin in the woods so you are going to encounter bugs of some sort. We killed a couple of ants that had made it into the room.

This is a beautiful resort and the rooms are clean and very comfortable. However the highlight of WCWL has to be the food. This is worth the lengthy drive just to have the culinary experience.

The property is gorgeous, well maintained. The reason for lower revire is the room they give Expedia. Carpet smell, the bed is old and uncomfortable, toilet seat broken. and the room is very dark. I would not recommend

Its was very nice, however we were not happy about somethings. It is not easy to figure out how to turn on the cable box for the TV to work(no instructions) and our coffee maker was broken. The restaurant and staff was very nice. The food was amazing, except very small portions for the expensive price. We were still hungry, the pub down the street maybe worth trying.

I was not pleased with what $225 a night gets you. What they referred to as forest view was actually a parking lot. I had to upgrade at cosiderable cost to fix that. Staff were very good and friendly for the most part but not universally. Beautiful property with great views from an upgraded room. Food was good but usually not as ordered and the portions were not great. For the amout of money spent I will look elsewhere next trip.

Hello, We are sorry that you were not satisfied with our Forest View Room. Yes the parking lot is visible from that balcony, but the trees are also visible. When your concerns were voiced, our Front Desk attendant was able to offer you a considerable discount on upgrading to an Ocean View Suite for only an additional $75/night (normally this upgrade would be an additional $197/night). Again, we apologize that you did not enjoy your stay to it's full potential and wish you the best on your next travel experience.

We do not offer AC in any of our accommodations since during most of our season they are not needed. We do provide fans in all rooms and suites. The lodge is great. We were there on opening weekend and had a fantastic time. Genevieve was informative and helpful on checking and the host/servers, Madeleine, Robin and Erin were fantastic and attentive in the dining lounge. Overall our meals were all very tasty and the bartender made very nice cocktails. Our room had a wonderful view and there are a number of nice seating areas to get away for quiet chats or join the other guests in the lounge. As far as a nice, quaint resort it is everything I looked for. UM

Quiet getaway
The hotel is in a lovely secluded area in Egmont. The food in the restaurant was outstanding and the view from the dining room was breathtaking. Our forest view room was separate from the main hotel building. Very clean and fresh with a private shower room.

This property has great potential yet to be realized. For example our room was updated but not finished. TV mounted on the wall had the pvr hanging in mid air under it. Only one picture in the whole room - a bad 8x10 photograph of an arbutus tree which looked to have been cut out of a magazine. For diner, they ran out of the feature fish dish - salmon. The secondary offering ling cod was dry - seemed to have been left under the head lamp too long. The toast served with our salads was burned. Ah well. On the positive side, the staff in the activities center were great. They offered good advice on hiking and kayaking in the area. The boat captain, Kevin, took us on a great tour up Jervis inlet

We checked in early so had to wait for the room to be made up. That was ok except when we finely got the room, there was still luggage in the room left by the previous occupant. Surely the cleaner must have seen the luggage when they made up the room. This was the 1st of many disappointments.

Stunning location
This is one place where it really is worth paying extra for an inlet view as it is absolutely stunning! We could only get a forest view but did have 2 deer below our balcony on the first night. Great restaurant here and all the staff were very pleasant and helpful. It is very close to the Egmont Adventure Centre and a 3 minute drive or 15 minute walk to the start of the trail to the Skookumchuk rapids (approx 1 hour walk each way for rapids/whirlpools but well worth it). We really hope to revisit this hotel sometime.

Nice resort but quite isolated
We had a very nice stay here and were pleasantly surprised when they gave us an upgrade. Our room was very nice with a rustic feel and the bed was very comfortable. We ate in the restaurant for two dinners and a lunch. The day we arrived we found out that the restaurant wasn't really open for lunches yet but they had a soup and bread that we were able to order. It was very tasty but only luke warm. Our dinners were excellent and the service was very good. The prices seemed a little high for what you got but they were delicious. The only negative about our dining experience was that they ran out of quite a few things on the menu our first night. When I asked our waitress what the Seafood Tagliatelle, which was a substitute for another Tagliatelle dish, had in it she said seafood like salmon, prawns and halibut. I thought great but was disappointed when it came and only had salmon in it. I switched meals with my husband and had his red curry halibut and it was delicious. There aren't a lot of options nearby for restaurants. The only other place is the BackEddy Pub. It was great. Good food and service. The internet at the resort was very spotty and there is no cell service. We didn't mind this as it was nice to be disconnected for a few days. Overall we liked this resort and you cannot beat the views!!
