"Good location but the check in was not organized. There was someone in the parking spot. They need more explanation about the permits which you must display. In the end I spoke to the concierge to sort it out. The place smelled of smoke. It was a good size and location if a little worn in places. The kitchen isn’t bad and it’s large space. It would help for check in if the keys were labelled and it came with instructions"

"The phones in the rooms didn't work so not helpful speaking to each other room to room. Dining in hotel good though and central location"

"Quite basic room, no frills, but clean and tidy. Price reflects the standard of rooms. Little decoration issues, but nothing too major. Staff were absolutely brilliant, very helpful, polite and smart. Would definitely recommend the hotel if you're on a budget, but if you're after luxury, this wouldn't be the hotel for you. There's no eating facilities there, but a nice bar."

"The staff are absolutely wonderful, especially Eva who has always made our stay extra special with her amazing friendly caring ways. Its always had a homely welcoming feel and never failed to make us feel special in the many many times we have stayed there. We are therefore extremely dismayed to find out that the Royal has now changed hands and most of the wonderful staff will no longer be working there. With this in mind we feel we are unable to return to this special hotel in the future."

"Had a lovely time at the Wookey hole hotel. It's the second time in 2 years that we have been. Situated next to Wookey hole itself, just a stone's throw away. The place was spotless and clean. Staff were friendly enough. No problem parking. The restaurant now offer a buffet breakfast service for breakfast. How ever I much preferred having breakfast made to order, as no fried eggs only scrambled. Also I preferred it freshly cooked and delivered to your table. Not keen on the buffet breakfast personally. Other than that, it's set in such a lovely idyllic picturesque part of Somerset. Altogether very good value for money. Speaking of money, the hotel lacks a cash machine and you need to travel a couple of miles to get to one."
