The bed was comfortable and we slept well. Room was better tha the appearance of the lobby area. We arrived late and needed a place to spend the night.

Let’s start off with the smell of the place when you first walk in, pretty pungent. Then they tell me it would be more convenient for me to carry all of my bags and my kids bags up the stairs from the rear entry, I think okay I’ve got my room key so I can drive around and use that for entrance into the back….. except the door I had to use didn’t even have a latch. ZERO SECURITY. As a single mother coming her for the wkend for my kids travel ball tournament, security is what helps me sleep with peace of mind as a single mother with 2 kids. Then we get to our room….. I do the normal check for bed bugs, I lift the mattress to find no box springs, I can see to the ground and there is a paper towel with dots of what looked like blood on it. (Have a video). I decide to not make a fuss, want my kids to not be upset. We change our clothes for the pool, go to the pool, it is so stinking COLD I could not go past the 3 feet marker. If my 5 year old complains in a pool, there’s a problem lol. It was sooooo loaded in chlorine it was hard to breathe in the small room. We then go back up to the room, I get my kids in the shower and realize we were giving all LOTIONS, so couldn’t wash either of their hair. I then notice it’s super hot in our room. I hit the temp down and nothing turns on. We had zero working AC. I called the front desk, said it’s almost 10pm and my kids have to be up at 7am, we are burning up. Asked for a new room and was told “oh man, if you would of called 20 mins sooner,

Last minute reservation when the (awful, filthy) hotel we had originally booked “couldn’t find” our reservation information from hotels.com. We were there to see the eclipse and almost everything was booked. Got lucky to find this hotel. Best Western in Edinburg checked us in quickly, problem-free, and with a smile. The room was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the area was convenient. I would recommend.
