This is a very nice hotel, claims to be Dubai's first Five Star Hotel. How historic! it is located on the creek and it is adjacent to a mall which it is connected to. There are a few cafes and other things which are easily walked to from here. It is easy and efficient to get a taxi from here to where you need to be.
The hotel has nice open public areas for reception, a lobby bar and so on. This sells tea, coffee and cakes etc. There is another bar which sells alcohol to the other side of reception. In the mall as well as many small shops there are also several restaurants including an English Pub, seafood, Asian, Persian, Japanese, etc.
The room was very nice, plenty of space and wardrobes. Nice bathroom although not so large. There is a small balcony. The bed was huge and very comfortable.
There was a little noise one night from a wedding taking place outside in the pool bar area but this did not go on so late.
The breakfast was very nice, an international selection with an Emirates twist. So no bacon, no pork sausage but plenty of tasty options. Service is attentive at all times.
Check in / check out and all other services were very efficient.
