I stayed as an Expedia “VIP” member. Hotel could not initially accommodate VIP room upgrade due to high capacity, and despite issues with fault room A/C which required 2 engineer visits before resolved. On Day 2 of stay, we were moved to a Superior room, which was great, aside from MORE faulty aircon and another Engineer visit. Very disruptive. Biggest issue came when trying to use pool and beach area. Unbeknown to me (and not made clear on Expedia) it is managed by third party company. No loungers available, due to high hotel capacity combined with day passes sold to locals by third party company. Waited 30 mins for loungers, chaotic system, and people jumped queue through exchange of cash with pool attendants in return for loungers and umbrellas. Expedia food and beverage discount (one of main perks) not available at pool or beach (again, not advertised). Will not be staying again, and suggest Expedia discusses these issues with hotel for it to be considered “VIP”.
