I stayed here during Ramadan, so perhaps my experience is somewhat out of the ordinary, but I found this to be a really nice homebase at a very reasonable price. It's not in the city center, but it is very close to a metro station, and the Mall of the Emirates if you want high-end shopping without going into the crush of the Dubai Mall.
The hotel itself if ultra-clean and nicely appointed. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. And the staff was absolutely lovely. They helped us out with a number of odd problems, and made us feel welcome at every step.
The pool and seating areas on the roof are nice, if not super-luxurious. They began a remodeling of the non-pool side while we were there, so we didn't get to have the "dinner on the roof" that we'd planned, but it looks like it will be a nice place to do that when it is finished again.
The businesses in the immediate area are friendly and helpful. Since the rooms come with complete, well stocked kitchens, the nearby grocery stores came in handy. There are several small cafes, and some nicer restaurants, too. Prices are not bad at all, very similar to my home town's.
If I could make any improvements, I'd ask for kitchen towels (for drying hands and dishes), and maybe some dish soap. That's just nitpicking, though. I was VERY happy with my stay!
