"Stay far away! This hotel is under major reconstruction, and the breakfast area is closed therefore serving no breakfast or food and the pool is closed. But that’s just part of it. Our hotel room was filthy dirty there were dirty socks on the bed. there was sticky candy on the carpet, the shower had mold and was leaking before we even attempted to turn it on. The entire outside of the property is strewn with garbage. It looks like a place that’s closed down. Stay away do not stay here."

"We recently stayed at The Ellie for two nights, booking two rooms for three adults and three children. We specifically chose this resort because of its advertised family-friendly amenities and activities, as this trip was meant to be a special gift for the kids. Unfortunately, the experience didn’t match what was promoted on the website. It listed daily activities for both kids and adults at set times, but during our three-day stay, none of those activities took place. There was also no tiki bar open at the main pool, and while there was live music the evening we arrived, there was nothing offered after that. For the price we paid, we expected much more of a true “resort” experience. Check-in wasn’t until 4 PM, which is fairly standard, but the pool closes at 7:30 PM—leaving very little time to enjoy it after getting settled. The water slides, while fun, don’t open until after 11 AM. There are also no restrooms poolside; the only bathrooms are on the first floor. The women’s restroom was especially disappointing—it was out of soap and toilet paper for two days, even after staff was notified, and it was consistently dirty. We also experienced issues getting pool towels (none available until nearly noon one day), and many of the water spigots meant for rinsing sand off were broken or not working properly. While you do have access to a neighboring sister property, which has a pool open until 10 PM, it’s not very convenient to carry everything over there—especially considerin"

"This is definitely a seasonal hotel as they don't have an indoor pool. Although the outdoor pool is heated, we were still cold getting out of the pool going to our room. The staff was excellent and very helpful. However like most cleaning staff at any hotel, they don't pay attention to detail as they are trying to turn over rooms quickly. Our ironing board was visibly broken as it only had one leg. And both hair dryers were not available for use; one was broken and one had additional items in the bag left by previous guest. These items did not impact our stay. The only thing that impacted my stay was I assumed that a Signature room would give an actual oceanfront front view, which was my primary reason for going and choosing the Signature room. If I knew that I will be overlooking a pool I could have just got a standard room. Other than that, very nice property with excellent staff. Food on the property is more expensive than off the property, but very convenient. I would bring my family again, but only if they can guarantee a room on the ocean as that is important to me when I travel inside the US. I want my domestic trip to feel like my carribean/international trip. And I don't mind paying extra for it."
