"In its design, this is certainly a concept hotel, which makes it both appealing and rather different. Wayfinding about the hotel was strange and difficult, though our suite was spacious and the staff extremely friendly. And we had a delicious meal in the restaurant--the best food we'd had to date in Portugal! "The property is breathtaking. The views, walking paths, history- everything is beautiful and peaceful. Although room was small, we didn’t spend much time inside- so many things to enjoy outside. We had garden view rooms and it had a very beautiful porch with roses. The whole property is very well maintained, and not touristy at all. Peace and quality everywhere .Dinner was lovely."

"Check in was great, with a welcome glass of Port. Breakfast was perfect every morning with plenty of options and very scenic views. Room was little dated and the area itself is secluded. If you’re looking for that, than this is the spot. The highlight of the trip in Douro was the wine tour about an hour away. Beautiful area beautiful resort. "
