"The staff was kind but the motel itself was to be frank disgusting.
The walls and hallways inside and the outside of the rooms were straight out of the Landlord's Special handbook. Walls were patched and not painted, questionable stains everywhere, and the free breakfast offered was a gamble at best. There was no doubt in my mind the 2 nights we stayed that the food has been frozen and poorly reheated to serve evey single day. Forever probably, like a real life stone soup but with disentary.
100% the rooms were not maintained when we were out. Only the towels were switched out. Random sticky or wet spots on the carpet made sandals absolutely necessary. No bags were touching the ground.
We only needed a place to sleep and this hotel was at least not overpriced, but this is NOT a place of comfort, necessity only. The tile in the bathroom lifted under our steps, the faucet in the sink was GRIMY and the wall length mirror behind the head of the beds were eerie and just plain strange. There was a musty and sketchy power chord connecting all the appliances inside.
I didnt feel we were in a Crack den or in danger, and again everyone was super kind. It's a shame that the property is in the condition it is in, but that is probably why it was a quarter the price of everywhere else."
"The place is under construction and has mattresses in common areas.Back parking lot was closed by our room. Elevator needs servicing. The man at check in was very friendly. The woman did not acknowledge anyone and sat on a computer. The pool area was nice and clean."
"The staff was great for check in and out. There were little extras at checkout and in the room that made us feel welcome. Sometimes the little things stick out. Example - fresh chocolate chip cookies free at the service counter along with coffee and tea bar. Staff member was very nice and cheerful. In the room little extras - 2 bottled waters, and 2 travel sized deodorants included in bathroom supplies along with all needed shower supplies (shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, face soap, makeup remover). The room and facility were clean."
"If I could give this place a rating of 100 for cleanliness I would! Other guests commented the same. I didn't spot one cobweb or dirty corner anywhere, inside or out. That to me is priority. The pool was also sparkling clean and heated. Still a little chill but nothing unbearable. I was there the 1st week of June. The staff was amazing. Very helpful when needed. The bed was comfy. The little areas dotted along the property with campfires ready to light, were a nice touch. I spent my mornings on the swing by the pond with my coffee, listening to the waterfall across the way. I loved this place! I do have to say, however, dont expect anything fancy. Its pretty "old school". Rooms are plain and aged some. Could use a few more tables within the rooms to put stuff on. No pictures on the walls, so didnt feel "cozy", but clean and functional. That would be my only gripe. Nicely located so day trips to other towns like Saugatuck, Holland and Grand Haven were within a 15 -50 minutes drive. Grand Haven State Park is definitely worth going to. Beaches were beautiful. I will def be returning next year for another relaxing long weekend. Maybe stay a few days longer! 😉"
