What a find! This place is a newly opened small boutique guest house built in Colonial style that has everything you could wish for during your stay in Hikkaduwa. We spent six nights at the Asian Jewel and found it a wonderfully restful place to stay, with lovely gardens and a small clean swimming pool. Mohan, the manager was extremely accommodating making gorgeous breakfasts and real cinnamon tea. The homestay is a really nice place to stay, in a quiet location but easily accessible to walk to the Fort and other local attractions. Tuk Tuks are made available with local drivers at a reasonable price to access the beach areas etc.This is the place to stay on anyone's plans visiting Sri Lanka. The hotel is nestled in the jungle along a dirt path. Our room had a balcony, with chairs, looking over the jungle and the lake, incredibly tranquil and beautiful. It was perfect even in the rain.
