"Great one night stay at Stoos Lodge! Easy check-in and friendly and helpful staff. The room we stayed in was clean and comfortable. The location being next to the funicular is a terrific jumping off point for hiking. The breakfast buffet is excellent."
"Lovely stay, clean room, enjoyed access to spa morning and evening. Room is minimal but nicely designed, some of the lighting buttons were confusing and one button was slightly faulty. Room would be improved with some coat hooks within the lobby area (stayed in Ando room with spacious lobby), or a sideboard or shelf, somewhere to put things as you come in. There wasn't a cushion to sit on by the balcony as in pictures. A kettle would also be useful."
"One of happiest and most memorable holidays to date, thanks in no small part to this wonderful hotel!
We felt we had one of the best rooms in the hotel (on the 2nd floor with a large balcony looking towards the beautiful valley and mountains beyond), and the room provided everything we needed. The bed was particularly large and comfortable and had no end board (important for me, being 6’3”!).
We took half board, and the food was of a consistently high quality. We particularly loved the salad buffet bar which was perfectly fresh every day and had such a wide range of salads to choose from. The main meal options were great too, and as a vegetarian, there was one option that changed each day. The desserts were generally great, although they did like putting savoury pea shoots on almost all of them which didn’t really work with the taste of the desserts! A very small point though …
The spa was incredible and it became our daily routine to get back to the hotel around 4pm and then have ~2 hours using the whirlpool, saunas, relaxation room and the sun loungers / parasols in the outdoor relaxation garden which felt so calm and peaceful. The facilities were very well maintained, with everything except one water jet mode of the outdoor whirlpool working perfectly — we were surprised that the spa was renovated / installed in 2006, it felt much newer.
The staff were always very friendly and helpful, which contributed to a very relaxed weeks stay.
A little piece of paradise!"
"We rented an apartment. The apartment does not come with made up beds. The resort charges an extra CHF 10 per bed to make it. The towels are also not included and an additional CHF 10. When we arrived I was honestly very annoyed by all the additional fees. We also assumed that all the amenities are included, but they are not. Extra charges for horse back riding, go cart, high ropes.. the only thing that was included was the pool, but again the towels for the pool cost extra. They also expect you to take the trash out, strip the beds and clean the dishes before you leave.
The restaurant Panorama is very overpriced and the food quality does not align with the price. I would recommend NOT eating at that restaurant.
Now to the things we did enjoy. The kids loved Tom’s indoor play area. Super fun for my 1 and 5 year old. The pool area was amazing for the kids and we spent several whole days just in the pool area.
The apartment was great with kids. We stopped at Aldi in town and got groceries. It was way easier with the kids to cook breakfast and the occasional lunch in the room.
Keep in mind the kitchen in the apartment is very sparsely stocked. We had salt and pepper, some utensils, plates and cups. While there is a coffee maker, the nespresso pods are not included.
I would stay here again, but definitely plan on eating dinner in Brunnen (Haddock was our favorite restaurant). And plan on bringing groceries."
"Ideal location before the Sankt Gotthard Tunnel. Lovely meal in the Gasthaus. Very quiet village just off the motorway. Nice bar with views a short walk away."
