"We booked this hotel for our last night in Sri Lanka and it was by far the most rundown hotel we have stayed in. We booked the most expensive ($260 per night) room that they offered “ beach villa”. The room was in poor condition and looked nothing like a villa. Tv didn’t work and bed sheets were old and room was not clean. Ac blows directly on the bed so you can choose to either be freezing or be super hot. The hotel is on the beach but far from easy access to anything near by. Dinning options...

"If this was a 1 star hotel, you may be pleased. However, I booked a 4 star hotel and in it falls very short. Food very average with poor hygiene with buffet almost inedible. Bar and dining room sit with a tin roof over the top. The bar which has a concrete plinth has no atmosphere, no decoration and no music anywhere in the hotel. The beach was average. The road to and from the hotel was extremely rough with pot holes every few feet, so the journey to and from took quite a long time due...

"The best thing about this hotel is the service from chef, barman and kitchen staffs. The swimming pool is clean and good size. The checked in was very slow as the staff did not know of our arrival. "We were traveling in Sri Lanka for almost 4 weeks. We wanted a more expensive and more luxurious hotel for our last nights. That's why we choose Dolphin Beach.
