Fiji Hideaway Resort and Spa
2/10 Terrible
"We recently stayed at Hideaway Resort and were extremely disappointed. This is not the same place we visited 10 years ago—it’s now run down, neglected, and clearly gone backwards.
Our first night in Bure 100 was unbearable. Located right next to the highway, the constant noise from trucks and buses made sleep impossible. On top of that, the room was poorly cleaned, with dust on the bed and pillows—completely unacceptable.
We arrived late from Nadi, yet the staff weren’t even aware of our check-in. The warm Fijian welcome we once experienced—garlands and drinks—was completely missing. It felt disorganised and indifferent.
After complaining, we were moved to Bure 97. While quieter, it was at the far end of the resort. With an infant, the long walks were frustrating, but we didn’t bother pushing further.
The decline in food and service was the biggest letdown. Options are now limited and disappointing. One morning, we were just 10 minutes late for breakfast due to our infant and asked for something small. The chef flatly refused—no flexibility, no care. That attitude says everything about how far standards have dropped.
To make matters worse, there has been no improvement to the bures—rundown bathrooms, no daily room service, and no telephone. Staff seem trained only to say “Bula” and play the Lalli for arrivals and departures, rather than provide genuine service.
Overall, a very poor experience. We won’t be returning—there are far better options like Shangri-La and Warwic"

"What a wonderful stay at the Wellesley! From the moment we arrived all we felt was relaxation, with the amazing staff taking care of everything. We couldn’t have asked for a more wonderful vacation. The beach, pool, grounds, food- all amazing. Thank you for making our first visit to Fiji unforgettable"

Crusoe's Retreat
10/10 Excellent
"We enjoyed our stay. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. The grounds were nicely kept. Limited options for food menu but everything we ate was very good. Wifi was excellent."

The Pearl Resort & Spa
4/10 Poor
"Not a great stay, room was a bit run down. Ants on the floor, shower dirty, bed head lots of wear and tear. We checked out early. Not any gluten-free friendly options. "

The Beachouse
10/10 Excellent
"The room is great for travellers on a budget. Large bathroom. You need to bring your own towel. Many activities to choose from. Staff are very accommodating and it’s a beautiful peaceful resort. Hammocks to read and relax. The water is beautiful and you can bare foot walk down the beach and back. Horse riding on the beach and surfing was the highlight. Food is fresh and flavoursome. Good portion sizes and good bang for your buck"

Maui Palms
10/10 Excellent
"My review is for the Pacific Romance villa. Decent sized room but my main priority was having a water outlook. Over the pool to the ocean.
All staff are very Fiji friendly and will soon know your name. Dinner orders can be taken at around 4.30pm so just turn up at the appointed time 😀. I thought infinity pools were a gimmick but I so loved it looking at the ocean.
Bonus that it's close to a supermarket and other restaurants.
Sorry that I missed the reef walk, but I definitely enjoyed the basket weaving.
A wonderful alternative to large resorts. "
