"It is the oldest private game preserve, and it shows. Wrinkled pictures in frames filled with dead bugs, the yard needs a serious clean. That being said the bar/dinner area is quite lovely. Game drive vehicles are ancient. (One hour drive is R450, which seems really steep). I stayed at one of the ‘chalets’. As basic as it gets. "The Lodge is situated on the edge of the canyon with spectacular views. The rooms are comfortable and clean, with a nice big shower, however, the shower head fixture had been fixed with a finger plaster and was shooting water out in all directions. The food is ok, not great, and I would have expected a higher quality at a lodge in this price range."

"We were warmly welcomed by Carla and taken to our spacious room with a lovely outlook into the bush. The room was simple but comfortable and clean. An excellent dinner was served outside and overlooking the warerhole where animals came to drink. Truly delightful!
