"I used to stay at Troutbeck back in the 60s as a child and this was a nostalgic trip for me. For the most part everything seemed to have been beautifully maintained with the top rooms having had an upgrade - all seemed brand new and the bed was soooo comfortable. The staff were beyond friendly and helpful and even gave us a free upgrade. I love that they honour Major “Mac”, who I remember well, as he developed the dam, pine forests, and the hotel, and gave support and upliftment to the local community. The road to Nyanga from Harare is good, and I encourage anyone thinking of going to do it! They need foreign visitors and it’s such a wonderful experience. The lake and World’s View are magical. "

The room was clean and comfortable. Menu options were good and prices not bad. Will definitely stay here again and bring family and friends. Recommend the hotel updates its website pictures, there is so much more to show. Please improve the instructions hiking and mountain climbing."
