"Positive: Staff is very friendly, pro-active and helpful, even for Myanmar standards. Breakfast is pretty good with the usual rice, noodles, fried vegetables, soup, rubber bread, eggs, bananas. "The property is dated, the grounds are well kept and the pool is inviting but very very cold. I was the only guest in the hotel. I booked online with no issue but when I checked in the owner insisted on cash only. I had the cash but not what I was expecting. There was not hot water to shower with. The bed is very old and uncomfortable you can feel every spring in the mattress. I would not recommend this hotel. "

I enjoyed a very nice 3 night stay at this property while I was recently in Mandalay. It has a great deal of traditional character and the staff were very friendly and professional. It has a pool and gym which were nice when one needed to get out of the heat during midday, but it was walking distance to Mandalay Palace and Mandalay Hill which was really nice. Rooms are a bit small, but very comfortable. Great place to stay

This hostel (Ostello Bello Bagan Pool) is the smaller and quieter version of the main Bagan one. They often share their daily tours when they dont get full. They are really close to each-others (5 min walking) if someone's fancy to join the more social active one. The 4 bed dorm was really comfortable and bid in size with a strong AC system (believe me its really needed even in the colder months like Jan-Feb). A lovely hideaway a few minutes walk from the heart of New Bagan, but in a quiet location in a wonderful setting. A few small pagodas are dotted around & viewable from the roof top terrace.
