Was made to feel more than welcome, I was made to feel at home. Blanca and Miguel were very friendly and helpful and I enjoyed my stay very much. The place is surrounded by nature and a friendly monkey visits every day to say hi!

The boat journey is exciting and comfortable despite being 8 hrs up river and 5 back. If lucky u meet the researchers and hear about their ingenious projects focused on the flora and fauna and the staff are attentive and wonderful as is the food.
We were up at 4.30 most mornings which is no sweat as u go to bed about 9 pm. The clay licks are disappointing this time of year as the Macaws come rarely and the smaller birds fear the hawks without the macaws on the lick...but the birds accumulate...

We totally LOVED staying here! We had a superior room and it was excellent, far exceeding my expectations of a jungle lodge. The mosquito nets are extremely good quality, so no worries about the bugs getting in and it was a unique experience sleeping in a room that was open to the jungle on one side. The lodge was superb, very helpful and friendly staff all round. They were very flexible with meals for our children (5 & 8 years). All staff I spoke to were really knowledgeable about the local plants and animals but special shout out to Yuri who led our multiple excursions. Only small suggestion for improvement would be to have a small selection of snacks available to purchase, chips, nuts, chocolate etc for between meals but otherwise the meals themselves were delicious.

Amazing stay, Refugio Amazonas is a beautiful lodge - you're guaranteed to have a wonderful time! The rooms are spacious and well presented, comfortable and airy as they are open to the rainforest. The lodge is very well run from collection at the airport to the time you leave - the manager Carlos has it running like clockwork.
