"I did not have a great stay here, because of the hotel and hotels.com. First off, let me say that the hotel and rooms are ok, the breakfast is good, and the location is great (in the middle of the main business area and your back door goes right to the beach). BUT this makes it very difficult for light sleepers, which I am. I thought the beach would have a calming sound, but during high season the waves sound like a thunderstorm right outside your back door. And fishermen are parked right behind...

It was quiet season so think we were the only ones staying so unfair to judge too harshly. There was a wasp nest a few metres from the room but didn't worry us as it is Sri Lanka after all. "Rustic hotel accommodation right on beach, 10 minute drive out of Arugam Bay. Tuk Tuk accessible. Basic accommodation with wifi only in verandah of our unit (11), and in dining area. Lovely atmosphere and staff are very accommodating and friendly. Loved their Sri Lankan meals. It’s not 5 star hotel but the staff make up for it. "
