"Just an excellent, excellent stay from start to finish in this historic Colonial building. Breakfast and dinner were delicious and the team really just was top notch and really cared about quality of food. The loft was a hit with the kids and the fine correction of loose tea was very much appreciated. We only stayed one night due to our itinerary, but would have loved to have stayed longer. The kids dipped their legs in the pool, but also didn't have the chance to swim due to time constraints. Will definitely be back in the future!"

"It is a lovely property ans breakfaat spread is quite large. Staff are friendly byt could be better trained on small nuances. The last who checked us in vaguely indicated the direction of the room and we spent 10 minuted walki g up and down searching for it. When we asked for a la carte food options other than the I.suan restaurant they have, ot took me 20 minutes to get the front desk to admit that a la carte foid could be ordered at tje lounge bar as well. When i we t to the lounge bar it took another 15.minutrs if argument for them to agree that yes they would accept the irdr even when the food menu was clearly lying inthe counter top! With a bit of better training this place would be great"

"Enjoyed the gym, pool (very warm), and the room was clean. Enjoyed the welcome drink, even if check-in seemed a tad slow. The service at the bar was also very slow, and we actually cancelled our order and went elsewhere for some food. Breakfast was superb and staff were friendly. "

"This property is falsely advertised as a 4.5-star hotel; in reality, it falls far short of that standard. It is an old, converted house with dated furnishings, holes in window frames, and a leaking roof. While the staff are friendly—and Smith, in particular, was very persistent in his efforts to help us—the management fails on basic amenities. There was no daily housekeeping or spa as promised, and we were even locked out one day due to the lack of a 24-hour front desk. The food is only bearable, the location provides lovely view, but is an absolute inconvenience, being far removed from the main road."

"On the plus side, it's a beautifully situated property, very nicely decorated, with tasty breakfast and good, caring service with a smile. On the minus side, there is no noise insulation in the room at all, you will get very loud environmental noises leech into the room from outside all day and night. Luckily I brought earplugs so I wasn't bothered that much. There was a good amount of spider webs around the A/C and one live but small roach on the towel rack. Overall it was a pleasant stay, providing great value in a friendly atmosphere, and I recommend it. "
