"This was our second stay at Asian Jewel and it was every bit as enjoyable as the first. Our room (Jasmine) had a direct panoramic view of Bird Lake and we saw many different species of birds as well as small animals including chipmunks, water monitors, geckos (and a cobra one one day but soon banished by the staff...). "The staff there were amazing. Extremely friendly and always there for information. Sadly though the place itself isn't well maintained. If they are able to get to get on top of this now they can really turn this around. Swimming pool: the tiles around the edge and the gutter needs to be cleaned daily. "An oasis of calm in the countryside! Lovely rooms, lovely pool area & a fantastic place to watch the jungle wildlife! The manager was super helpful too. The beach is a 40 min walk away, or a short tuk tuk ride. "

"They contacted us by email 2 weeks before arrival asking us to cancel our reservation, we did not see that email and it was still confirmed through hotels.com! They did not have a room for us. My little experience with the hotel, therefore, is not good. And it was a struggle to get them to help us find another hotel.. I would not book them again since I feel I wouldn't be able to trust the booking."
