"I was unsure as to what to expect, I saw the excellent rating however hotels near a convention center are often not well maintained due to the amount of traffic and overuse. Overall impression A charming, boutique stay that leans heavily into history and atmosphere but with a few trade-offs you should know before booking. Historic character with real presence I spent October of 2025 traveling through England in cottages, small quaint hotels and many were similar but without modern amenities and no elevator. This isn’t a “themed” hotel it is authentic. Built from 19th-century townhouses, you feel the architecture the moment you walk in. Think brick, woodwork, and a peaceful courtyard that feels removed from DC’s pace. Service tends to be warm and personal. Staff are often described as attentive and helpful without being intrusive—very boutique-style hospitality."

"The front desk staff was very helpful during the check in process and changing of rooms. To no fault of theirs, we had to change rooms and I ended up in an hypoallergenic room which was perfect for me. Room was clean and had the most wonderful view. Room service was great."

"Honestly, for the difference in price compared to the Washington Hilton (that was right across the street and where my conference was taking place), I'm not sure why anyone wouldn't pick this place. Only downsides were slow wifi (just barely above 1 Mbps on average!), one of the two elevators out of order during my stay(yet never really waited long to catch it), and the restaurant/bar not functional one night (wife having a baby, I heard....that's more important!), and nasty road construction going on (not the hotel's fault), I really enjoyed my stay. Very quiet and nostalgic, and in a great location. I will be back if ever coming back to the area! Great value. Friendly staff!"

"Everything was fantastic. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to this hotel. The only concern I had was that I had an emergency and couldn’t check out because I was in a hurry. I called the staff, but no one answered. Eventually, someone did answer, but they hung up on me without knowing that I had an emergency. They didn’t seem to be aware of the situation and didn’t take any action to help me."
