Nice clean and quiet hotel. Easy to get into Ajaccio by bus. Hotel staff were pleasant and the breakfast was good. The only criticism I would have is that the hotel has been built with an underground carpark and you are then charged €5 per day if you want to use it. The alternative is to park around the perimeter of the hotel (which is very safe) for free. As a consequence, the underground carpark is empty - bonkers!!

We both loved the setting, the surroundings and the proportion of our accommodations. Well designed, spacious bedroom and ensuite with a large and private covered terrace, like an outside living room. Breakfast was served by the owner on our terrace and was both plentiful and delicious. The pool and loungers were ideal for a morning swim or post beach dip. We booked Hotel Vecchia Fonte after reading guests ratings, and then had serious worries that we had got it wrong this time. We worried that Palau was a small town but not a quaint old Sardinian town, by a car park, busy port with ferry boats, but all of our worries were unfounded.
