"We loved our stay at Casa Kaan. Each unit is surrounded by tropical plants and mostly the only sounds one hears are the birds and howler monkeys in the evening and in the morning. We heard the howler monkeys and saw a lot of birds, which is exactly the experience we wanted. The unit we were in was excellent with a good bed. The staff was friendly and helpful. We booked a tour to the ancient Mayan site of Calakmul through the hotel and it was incredible. The breakfasts were good and the...

"... aber leider enttäuschend. Zimmer befinden sich um einen hübschen und gepflegten Patio. Zimmer selbst sind aber merkwürdig verbaut und durch die seltsamen gelben Fenster in ein komisches Licht getaucht. Bettwäsche war fleckig und zerrissen. Im Bad funktionierte die Toilettenspülung nicht; die Duschbrause reparierten wir kurzerhand selbst. Sämtliche Moskitonetze vor den Fenstern sind defekt, abgerissen bzw. löchrig. Klimaanlage ist laut und riecht nach Schimmel.

"Schon die Anfahrt ist nur mit einem echten Allrad mit LKW-Reifen zu empfehlen. Wir haben es mit einem Jeep so gerade geschafft.
Der Pool ist mit altem grünlichen Wasser gefüllt, nicht zu empfehlen.
Das übelste: es gab KEIN Leitungswasser, also die Rohre waren leer.
Kein Händewaschen, kein Duschen, kein WC.
Wir haben das Klo mit Hilfe eines Abfalleimers mit Wasser aus dem Pool gespült und sind am nächsten Morgen früh um 6 Uhr weg.
Natürlich haben wir wegen des fehlenden Wassers reklamiert.
